Emma's P.O.V

"Come in", I heard my employer say as I knocked on his door.

"Good Morning Mr. Edward", I told him as I entered his office.

The middle aged man looked up from his work and adjusted his spectacles which was sitting on the bridge of his nose.

"Miss Parker! Are you done with your story? Is that is why you are here?", he asked me as he adjusted his glasses again, looking at me impatiently with his lips drawn into a thin line.

"Yes and No. Both Sir", I told him nonchalantly as he raised a questioning eyebrow at me.

"I completed the story and here it is", I told as I handed him my piece of work.

He accepted it while eyeing me suspiciously. I don't blame him for I always handover my work at the last day. And this time the poor man must have been shocked to find me handing over the said article a couple of days before the deadline.

I couldn't help but inwardly smile as I watched him skim through the article while throwing doubtful glances at me.

"It would do", he said with an approving nod.

He placed the stack of papers on his desk and was about to indulge in his work again when I cleared my throat.

A sigh of annoyance reached my ears as my grumpy employer looked up at me with blazing eyes.

I swallowed hard as I looked into his impatient black orbs nervously.

"Mr. Edward, there is something else that I need to ask you", I managed to tell him without a stutter. I mentally gave myself a pat on the back.

"I'm all ears", he stated as he leaned on the back of his chair with a questioning look.

"I need three days off from work, Sir", I told him calmly, as a shaky breathe escaped my lips simultaneously.

There! I finally said it!

Okay, I know that you might find me wierd for fidgeting in front of my boss to ask a few days off. But the truth is, Mr.Edward isn't like any other boss that you might have encountered. He is a workaholic! And the worst part is, he expects his minions i.e us to be workaholics too. So yeah, a day off in his calendar wouldn't please him at all.

"Because?", he asked as I watched his already grim expression turn grimmer. TOLD YA!

"My aunt has passed away, and I need to be there for my family", I told him in a faked emotional voice.

He looked at me unsurely as the seconds ticked by. For a moment, I thought I saw his eyes soften a bit. Nah! I must be hallucinating.

"I understand. You can take the next 3 days off, Miss. Parker", he told me with a nod.

Woah! Wait! Did I hear that right? Did he just agree like that?

"You must be dreaming!", my inner-voice reasoned.

I pinched myself on the arm. Ouch! That did hurt a lot.

I couldn't help but gawk at him with my eyes widened to the size of saucers. Seems like I'm not dreaming after all. This guy must be in a good mood today. Lucky me!

"Thank you, Mr. Edward. That is very kind of you", I told him with a genuine smile and quickly turned around to leave before he changed his mind.

"And oh Miss. Parker?" he called out aloud as I neared the door.

"Oh crap! Now don't tell me that he has changed his mind already!", I inwardly groaned as I turned around to face him with a questioning look.

"Give my condolences to your family", he told me as he adjusted his glasses again.
