Part 10

Lizzie's POV

After our dinner, nag-aya na si ate na manood ng movie. Sinabihan ko s'ya na wag ng chickflick ang panoorin. Nakakaawa naman kasi si Seb, baka hindi maka-relate. Pero parang hindi nya pa din ako narinig.

"Me before you" ang pinili n'yang movie. Naunang naglakad papasok ng movie house si Ate. Nauna din s'yang umupo. Tumabi ako sa kanya, tumabi naman si Seb sakin. Nasa dulo s'ya, yung sa daanan ng mga tao.

The movie will start in 15 minutes, meron munang mga advertisement at trailer ng mga lalabas na bagong movie. I look at Seb, napansin ko na napapangiti s'ya.

Lights dimmed, then the movie starts playing. We are focused on the screen. Napaisip ako, ate is so into Suspence/Thriller movie genre. Why are we watching chickflick?

Protagonist is in her 20's, an outgoing woman who's looking for a job after she's been laid off work. She found a job as a caregiver to a former banker who was paralyzed due to a motorcycle accident. He was cold at first but she didn't give up, they started a friendship and developed a romantic feelings for each other.

The former banker, who's the lover of the protagonist requested for an assisted suicide from his parents as he knows that his old self will never come back, it is never a possibility.

The protagonist learning about it decided that she will make him change his mind. They went on adventures; such as Mozart concert, and a trip to Mauritius.

Their feelings for each other grew deeper, but then the guy still wishes to proceed with the assisted suicide. As he want her to pursue her life than have a half life with him.

Our protagonist was heartbroken.

He requested her to be with him for the last time. They spent moments together before he passed away.

He left her enough money so she can follow her dream. He also ask her to "live well"

I wiped my tears away. The very reason why I rarely watch chickflick, romance. Lagi akong umiiyak!

I noticed a hand with hanky in front of me. I traced where it's coming from. Kay Seb. Kinuha ko ang panyo. "Thanks." Bulong ko. He smiled at me.

We went out the movie house after. Tinago ko ang panyo ni Seb sa bag ko, baka makita pa ni Ate.

"San tayo?" Tanong ni Seb.

"Sasama ka pa din?" Nagtatakang tanong ni ate. Tinignan ako.

"Oo. Can't I? I mean, I can go home already if you don't want me to tag along." Sabi n'ya. Nakalagay ang kamay sa sa magkabilang bulsa ng pants.

Bumuntong-hininga si ate. "We're going on a bar. Have a few drinks. May pasok ka pa bukas." She reminded him.

"I'll be fine. Really, it's your decision. If you don't want me to tag along.. I'll just go."

I don't know, but I have this feeling that I want him to stay. No! You can't feel that same way again Lizzie. Remember, you're still trying to heal. You're still trying to forget.

But then, how can I forget? It happened exactly 2 years ago. On my 22nd birthday!

"Hoy, Lizzie! Nag zone out ka na naman. Do you want Seb to go with us?" Ate Kate tugged the hem of my shirt to caught my attention.

"I guess. If he wants to stay.. Then that's ok." I look at him. I smiled.

He smiled back. "No, I'll just go. It's getting late and Kate is right. I still have to go to work tomorrow." Seb started walking away from us.
