Seb's POV

I phased my room. Back and forth. She still hasn't arrived. I checked the wall clock, 8:30. She's stubborn, I offered to pick her up from the train station but she declined. She should've been here by now had she accepted my offer.

Inayos ko ulit ang mga folder na nasa table n'ya, tinabi ko. Inayos ko din ang cake na binili ko. I made sure that it's in the middle of her desk. It's her birthday.

I was cleaning some clutter on my table when I saw the information sheet she submitted. Since maaga 'kong dumating at wala pa s'ya, I decided i'd buy her a cake.

I don't know if she'll like it or not. But i'm hoping for the first. I took a notepad, wrote a message on it.

Narinig ko na bumukas ang pinto ng office, dali-dali akong bumalik sa swivel chair ko. Nagbuklat ng kung anoman ang una kong mahawakan. Not sure if she saw me standing near her desk earlier.

Pasimple ko s'yang tinignan habang nakatakip sakin ang folder na nahawakan ko kanina. She didn't even look at me!

Naramdaman ko ang pagtayo n'ya, nagpunta sa coffee table. I know what she's doing. Nagtitimpla na s'ya ng coffee for us. Nagiging habit na n'ya na ipagtimpla 'ko. She never fail to do it, unlike nung mga nakaraan.

I still pretended that I'm busy. Should I greet her personally? Nah! May cake naman na, may note na din, that should be ok.

Inilapag n'ya sa desk ko ang coffee. "Thank you." Mahina n'yang sabi. Naramdaman ko ang paglakad n'ya pabalik sa cubicle, pero biglang bumalik.

"Seb, yung folder.. Uhm, baliktad."
I tried to read what's inside the folder. And I can't read it, as it is upside down! Also, some pages of the papers are hanging. Epic failed! Darn it! Why did I not notice that.

Hindi na ko sumagot. Stupid Seb! Stupid! And what is wrong with you? Para kang teenager na hindi mapakali kapag nandyan yung gusto n'yang babae.

Teka, no. I don't like her. Do I? No. I'm just being nice to her. After all, she's my assistant.

I started working. I can hear her typing. Then the messenger appeared on my screen. It is from her.

Thanks sa cake. Appreciate it.  😊

This is something new. We don't even talk through messenger. First time.  She can just thank me face to face. All she have to do is stand from her chair, walk 3-4 steps and talk to me.

But this isn't bad I guess. May smiley face pa. I started typing.

No worries. Anyway, may plan ka ba mamayang lunch?

I didn't hear any noise coming from her cubicle, meaning she isn't going to respond. I sighed. When you thought it's going the way you wanted, except it doesn't.

Then I heard her use the keyboard. I don't know, but honestly.. I'm excited.  I chuckled.

Wala naman. Why did you ask?

Ok, not one liner. Dali-dali akong nag type.

Let's take our lunch together. My treat. Since it is your birthday.
