Lizzie's POV

We kissed, again. I smiled while reminiscing what happened earlier.  I check my closet. Looking for a dress that I'll have to wear tomorrow.

But then, I don't have other dress. The only dress I have is the one I used 2 years ago. Am I ready to wear it again? Or why don't I borrow one from ate?

Seb is right. I have to move on. It's been 2 years. I took the red dress and the black cropped cardigan out of the box. Then I went to the laundry area.

"Looks like someone has already moved on.."

I turned around. Ate is leaning on the wall, arms crossed over her chest, looking at me. I nodded. "I guess."

"It's Seb right?"

Should I tell her the truth? I just smiled.

Ate came inside the laundry room. She hugged me tight. "Liz.."

"Ate.."

"You are really stubborn. I told you not to fall for him, and yet you did." Her voice is crackling.

"Ate..Mali ba na magustuhan ko s'ya?"

She shook her head and pulled her body away from mine. She wiped her tears away. "No. It's just that, I don't wanna see you again like that."

I was drinking beer the whole day, I don't know how many bottles I had, I already lost count My tears won't stop falling from my eyes. Why does it hurt like this? We haven't had a relationship at all. We are just friends! Why does it affect me this way?

I chugged the beer again. Oh, this taste great! I was looking at the void in the ceiling of my room.

I want this pain to go away. I want this to end now. Why does it hurt so bad?

I took a blade from my drawer. Maybe, this will help. I smile while I look at the sharp edge.

"Lizzie! Liz!" Ate hurriedly run and in no time, she's beside me "What are you doing?!" Anger reflects her eyes. She took the blade out of my hand.

I smiled weakly. "I-I j-just w-want the p-pain to go away."

"You want the pain to go away by what? Ending your life? Come on, Liz! You are better than this.." She's holding both my hands.

"I love you, ate.."

Her tears started rolling down her cheeks and I wiped them away.

"I love you too, Lizzie. But please, don't ever think of doing it again. Baka sumunod ako sayo." She sobs.
"B-akit k-ka s-usunod sakin? S-sira kahh.."

"Ikaw na nga lang halos ang pamilya ko, iiwanan mo pa ko?" Lalong umiyak si ate, naramdaman ako ang luha n'ya sa balikat ko.

Yumakap ako ng mahigpit sa kanya. "I'm sorry ate.."

"Please, Lizzie. You have to help yourself."

I didn't respond. How can I help my self if I've already drown on this mess.

"You will not see me on that state, like that, ever again."

"Anyway, why are you washing the dress and the cardigan?" eyebrows raised, she's smirking.

"Seb invited me tomorrow. Engagement party daw ng ate n'ya tsaka nung soon to be husband."

"Oh.. Wala na si Seb tsaka yung mga girlfriends n'ya?"

"Wala na daw."

She nodded her head. "Good start."

I look at her puzzled.
