Gaile knocked on his bedroom door and waited for an answer. “Come in,” she heard her uncle say from inside. She slowly opened the door then walked in.
“Uncle Dada, I just wanted to check on you,” ang sabi niya sa tiyuhin na nanood ng tv.
Pinatay muna ni Gerald ang telebisyon bago sagutin ang anak-anakan. “Check up on me o kukuha ka lang ng update?”
“Pareho,” ang natatawang sagot niya.
“Well, it was a great experience. And I had so much fun hanging out with her,” ang sagot naman ni Gerald kay Gaile na ngayon ay nakaupo na sa tabi n’ya sa kama.
“So did you get to talk to her a lot?”
“Yeah, we spent a lot of time together. I was able to get to know her a little bit better kasi nakapag-usap kami ng mas matagal. At this time hindi na tungkol sa trabaho namin doon o tungkol sa ‘yo.”
“That’s good. I can see how happy you are right now.”
“Love?”
“Yes Uncle Dada?”
“May nanliligaw ba sa ‘yo ngayon?”
Nagtatakang tinignan ni Gaile ang kanyang tiyuhin, “Are we gonna have that conversation now?”
“Look just answer the question.”
“Ngayon po wala.”
“But you’ve been courted before right?”
“Uncle Dada, pangit po ba ako sa panginin mo? Do you really think na hindi pa ako naliligawan?”
“Oh sorry. Ito na lang. What are the things that make you think that the person courting you is sincere? Paano na ba manligaw ngayon?”
“Teka lang po Uncle Dada. Do you mean…”
“What I mean is I’m seriously thinking of courting Sarah but I’m not sure I still know how. I want to do it right. I don’t wanna rush it. I want to impress her pero ayaw ko naman magmukhang mayabang.”
