“Uncle Dada, do you remember that talent show that we had?” Gaile asked during dinner.
“Yes. What about it?”
“Well, the principal loved it so much that she wanted to have another show but this time we can invite our parents. Will you come and watch?”
“Of course! I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
“Kahit na alam mong you will see Ms. Sarah singing and holding hands with Sir Edwin?”
“Kahit na… Wait. What? May holding hands pa?”
“Well, oo sandali lang but it was kinda obvious that it was all for show. Although marami nang nanunukso sa kanila after that.”
“Did they look good together?”
“For me Uncle Dada, kayo ni Ms. Sarah ang bagay. Of course meron pong magsasabi na bagay sila kasi nga they saw the show they put up.”
“At syempre ikaw kakampihan mo ako kasi ako uncle mo.”
“That may be true but it’s not the case here now. I’ve seen how Ms. Sarah’s eyes lighten up when your name is being mentioned in our conversations. She didn’t look that way at Sir Edwin. Yes she smiles and holds hands with him but that’s just about it. How do I say it? Uhmmm…. walang spark.”
“They seemed to have chemistry during the rehearsals.”
“Is what a jealous boyfriend would say,” Gaile continued on for him.
“What do you mean?”
“Uncle Dada, it’s so obvious na nagseselos ka sa kanila.”
“Ako? Hindi ah!”
“Really.”
“Eh kasi naman pareho silang magaling kumanta. Ako I can’t even carry a tune even if my life depended on it,” he whine like a little boy.
“So what? Sino po ba ang nagsabi na mas type ni Ms. Sarah ang magaling kumanta?”
