“I love you Sarah,” he sincerely said.
“I love you, too, Gerald,” she replied.
Parang hindi makapaniwala ang binata sa narinig. Namilog ang kanyang mata at hindi s’ya makapagsalita. He wanted to ask her to say it again so he can be sure that what he heard was right but no words came out from his mouth.
“Oo Gerald, mahal kita. Narealize ko ‘yun when you said let’s begin again. At sa bawat araw na dumadaan, kahit hindi mo siguro sinasadya, ay mas lalo kang napapamahal sa akin. With just those simple ways of yours, you make me fall in love with you even more.”
Unti-unting lumapit si Gerald sa kanya na may malaking ngiti. “I couldn’t say anything kasi I had to make sure I heard it right. Thank you for trusting me. At pareho lang tayo, for each day that goes by, I fall harder for you.” When he was just a few inches away from him he took her hand and placed it on his chest. “Can you feel that?”
Natawa si Sarah nang maramdaman ang mabilis ng tibok ng puso ng bagong kasintahan. “Bakit ang bilis?”
“Kasi kinakabahan ako.”
“Bakit naman?”
“Because I’m about to kiss you. I’m about to finally have my first kiss with you.”
Hindi na nagsalita si Sarah at hinintay na lang ang susunod na mangyayari. She closed her eyes and anticipated. He leaned closer and saw how she closed her eyes. That moment that his lips were about to touch hers, he closed his as well.
And then he felt her soft lips. It was a simple kiss at first – their lips just pressed together. But Gerald opened his mouth, which made her open hers as well, and that kiss deepened. It took them a while before they were able to break apart.
With his eyes still closed, he leaned his forehead on hers and said, “I love you so much my love. Thank you for making me so happy.”
Hindi maiwasan ni Sarah na kiligin sa narinig. “Ganun pala ang feeling na tawagin mong Love. Matagal ko nang iniisip ‘yun eh,” ang pabirong sabi n’ya kay Gerald.
Now it was his turn na matawa. Naghiwalay ang kanilang mga ulo but their eyes were still glued to each other’s. “Kelan pa?” he asked.
“Simula nung marinig ko na tinawag mo si Gaile na Love.”
