"My lion?!" Keith exclaimed, running to catch up to Pidge. With every step, Keith felt stronger. Keith reached to his side to retrieve his bayard only to find that his armor was gone and, in turn, so was his bayard.
"Shiro, I found Keith." Pidge spoke hurriedly into the comm. there was a moment of silence before Pidge responded again. "On it!"
They paused at a T shaped intersection. Pidge peered around the corner.
"My lion doesn't listen to me anymore. You know that." Keith explained in a low voice.
Pidge turned to him with confusion "What are you talking about?"
"I--"
"Let's move." Pidge took him by the hand and led him onwards, their feet echoing on the floor of the empty corridor.
"I don't get it. There should be more Galra soldiers than this." Keith commented.
"No more than usual." Pidge responded.
"Pidge--"
Pidge held up a hand to silence him. She scanned the corridor and listened intently for approaching soldiers. When she seemed convinced that they were alone, she allowed her hand to drop back to her side and nodded once.
"What's going on?" Keith demanded.
"The Galra captured you, Keith. We have been searching for you for over a month."
Keith shook his head in denial. "No, I came back with you guys. My lion wouldn't work so Lance helped guide me through the wormhole."
"No, Keith. You were captured by the Galra." Pidge clenched her jaw as she recalled the memory of the event. "Zarkon said you belong with them. Lance tried to interfere and they almost killed him." Keith's stomach dropped.
"So none of it was real?" Keith breathed.
"None of what?"
"I--never mind. I need to find my bayard."
"There's no time for that right now. We don't even know where it is and we can't risk losing you again."
As they reached another corner, Pidge jumped back as if she received an electric shock.
"Ouch!" Keith hissed as Pidge stomped on his foot.
Pidge shot him an apologetic look and gestured to a pair of Galra soldiers that stood before them guarding the exit.
"They must be aware of your escape." Pidge whispered. "We have to find another way out."
"Wait a moment." Keith trailed his hand to where his blade was concealed, praying that the Galra hadn't taken that too. He smiled when his hand grazed its cool, metallic surface. Keith wrapped his hand around the grip.
Pidge cocked her head. "I hope that smile means you have a plan."
"I might."
