Ch19
"Chips?"
"Check."
"Coke?"
"Check."
"DVD?"
"Check."
"Popcorn?"
"Why are we doing this again?" Elizabeth asked.
Henry looked up from his checklist at Elizabeth, "How many times are you going to ask that?"
"As many times as it takes for me to agree that it's a good idea." Elizabeth said.
Henry sighed, "Our New Year's party is today at night and I wanna make sure that we have everything we need."
"But we checked already!"
"Ya, and we had forgotten the popcorn." Henry replied, "So, popcorn?"
"Check." Elizabeth mumbled, taking out a bag of popcorn from the big brown paper bag.
Every year for as long as Elizabeth had known Henry, they had made their own little New Year's party at one of their houses. It was just them two, which made it special, and this year it was going to be at Elizabeth's house since her parents were going to go out.
"I can't believe that tomorrow I'm going to wake up and it's going to be a new year." Elizabeth said.
Henry acted like he hadn't heard, "Paper plates?"
"Check."
Henry eyed Elizabeth when she didn't pull anything out of the bag. "Where are they?" he asked.
"I have plates in my house, do they really have to be paper?" she asked.
"Suit yourself, if you want to start your new year washing the dishes, then fine." he scribbled something on his paper. They were in Henry's house preparing everything. "Back up DVD?"
"Check." Elizabeth pulled out another DVD.
"And last but never least, the music."
"Music." Elizabeth pulled out her phone from her pocket.
"What's that?"
"A phone."
"Where's the music?"
"On the phone."
Henry threw his hands up in the air, "You were supposed to get an album!"
"I have some cool songs on my phone." Elizabeth said.
"But this is a New Year's album!"
"Well, why didn't you get it?"
"Because I was busy getting everything else, all I asked you to do was get the plates and cups and album, and you didn't get any of them." Henry sighed.
"Fine. Sorry. I'll get the album and plates and cups now." Elizabeth said.
"No, no i'll get them. You get the cake." Henry said, scribbling something else on his paper, "Just tell the cake guy my name and he'll give you the cake." He looked up at Elizabeth, smiling, "Or do you already have a cake?"
She smiled, "Ha-ha, very funny."
"Just do it. I'll meet you at your place at 6:30 so we can get the decorations ready." Henry said.
"Ok." she turned to leave, but then faced him again, "Uh, Henry can I ask you something?"
"Did I miss something?" he frowned at his checklist.
