KATHRYN'S POV:
"AND the UP Campus Darling 2014 is..."
My heartbeat is so OA na. There are just two of us left here on stage.
Let it be me, please!, that's in my mind and i smiled my prettiest smile. It did not take a lot of effort naman because, I know, I'm really beautiful. Ha-ha-ha.
"..is candidate number 17, Kathryn Bernardo!"
"Oh!" I exclaimed with matching may-i-cover-the-lower-part-of-my-face-para-demure effect. Bumeso pa ko kay candidate number 26 whom I beat. Ah yes, I won and I deserve it! It's my first pageant for 2014 and super diet talaga ako coming off the holidays. Grabe, now I can say it's worth it!
The organizers are approaching already to give my bouquet and sash. Lalapit din yung reigning Campus Darling to give my crown. And the most special of all - papalapit din ang love of my life. My Mr. Right. The real Darling for me. My one and only.

Oh by the way, he's not here to support me in the competition. Actually, hindi ako sure kung kilala nya ko before this night started. Judge sya kaya sya nandito. Pero as usual, he's not smiling kahit ang laki-laki na ng ngiti ko sa kanya. Hmp.
After i got all my prizes, picture-taking na kaya nag gather sila around me sa centerstage. Magkatabi na sana kami ni Enrique but someone came in between us - yung bading na host na friend ko din naman. At dahil friends nga kami, pa-simple ko syang siniko and binulungan.
"Baks, pwede lumipat ka?" i said discretely.
Nakahalata naman si bakla. Well, nagpout muna sya bago umalis at pumunta sa ibang pwesto. Wag na syang makipag-argue dahil kakalbuhin ko sya pag hindi kami magkatabi ng crush ko sa photo op! Minsan lang 'to and it might not happen again. So walang nagawa si Enrique kundi tumabi sa kin para compressed sa picture.

All the more i feel like a winner. I got the chance to stare at him closely. He has fine skin, pang commercial model. His eyes are so beautiful. Yung nose nya matangos. At yung lips - yan... jan manggagaling ang magiging first kiss ko. I giggled at the thought.
"Picture na po, okay, 1, 2, 3..."
I won't wonder kung isa sa mga ire-release na picture ay nakatingin ako kay Enrique. Ang gwapo naman kasi eh!

"ENRIQUE!"
Palabas na sya ng auditorium when i saw him. Kausap ko kasi yung friends ko sa may lobby.
Chance ko na 'to. I have to talk with him! Seven months ko na syang tinitingnan from afar ha! Eversince pumasok ako sa university, hindi pa talaga ako nagkaroon ng chance na makausap sya. So this is it. This is really it!
Lumingon naman sya, pero poker face pa rin. Hindi man lang sumagot.
Nung nakalapit na ko, tsaka ako nagsalita ulit. "Hi. Uhm, ia-ask ko lang 'yung about sa outreach program. Kailan ako pwedeng magstart?"
His eyebrows met. "Hindi ba sinabi sa inyo ng organizers?"
Fail. Iyan ang very first sentence na narinig ko from him. Hindi man lang "Hi" or "I'm glad you asked". And yung way pa ng pagkatanong nya, parang ang ignorante ko lang naman.
So it's palusot time. I have to make the most out of this!
"Uhm, sinabi naman nila na next week daw, February 3. I'm just aking kasi... maybe I can start earlier?"
