Chapter 3

Kathryn's POV:

From: Sigma Kappa Sorority

Hi Kathryn. This is Iyah from Sigma Kappa. Jus wanna remind u of your first day as volunteer in Real Life Club. We'll see u there for the photo op and turn over. 10am at their ofice.

I read the message again while walking to NCAS building. I received  it the previous night. Yes! That was the message i've been waiting for! And in my mind, i was like:

No need to remind me, dear, i know that by heart.

Syempre, ever since nanalo ako sa pageant 2 weeks ago, ito na ang nilu-look forward ko. Actually, even before i joined, na-envision ko na talaga na i would win and join the organization. Ha-ha-ha. Define confident: ME.

Oh my gosh! This is it! Seryoso na 'to!

I walked along the corridor where i bumped into my handsome Enrique the other day. I smiled at the thought. I fixed my hair with my hand and glanced at my reflection sa mga nadaanan kong glass-covered bulletin boards, when i noticed some new posts there. Napa-stop ako sa paglalakad to stare closer. Si Enrique! Well, hindi naman solo pic, kasama nya yung mga co-execom member nya sa picture. It was a group shot taken at an orphanage. The other picture beside it, he was feeding one little girl na nakaupo sa wheel chair.

Haaay, you're sooo handsome, my darling.

To top the handsome face, he was smiling in those photos. Pwede naman palang ngumiti kung gugustuhin, bakit ba ang damot nya usually? Hmp.

"Kathryn?" someone called me, female voice.

I looked at her direction. "Yes?"

"Hi, i'm Ces. Vice President ng Real Life. You're here for the turnover, right?"

Kilala ko sya by face and by name, pero kunwari na lang hindi, since lahat naman silang mga ka-trabaho ni Enrique, ini-stalk ko din lang.

"Yeah, medyo maaga lang ako sa call time. 10AM?"

Ces looked at her watch. "Sakto lang. 9:40 na din. Padating na yung ibang volunteers."

"Okay."

Pumasok na kami sa office nila. As soon as i stepped in, i looked around. The room was not too big - may isang long table with 8 mono bloc chairs, may wooden cabinet na may mga trophies and plaques, may 2 bulletin boards and may mga standee banners. Malinis yung office and mukhang well-maintained talaga.

Ito pala ang turf ng baby ko, i nodded in my mind.

"Have a seat."

Naupo naman ako and did my best to keep myself from asking kung nasaan na si Enrique, kahit gustung-gusto ko na talagang magtanong. I just got my cellphone and browse through Twitter to divert my attention.

Maya-maya, dumating na yung mga members ng Sigma Kappa.

"Hi, Iyah," Ces welcomed them.

Tumayo na din ako and checked out the people who came in. Dumating na din yung mga members ng org - sina Heaven, Jam, and two other guys. Pero wala pa rin yung hinihintay ko and i started to get impatient.

"Maybe we can start now?" Heaven said. Nai-set-up na kasi nung guys yung mga standee banners for the photo op.

Si Jam naman na may hawak ng certificate of commitment and volunteer form ko, nagsalita na din. "Sorry, we don't think Enrique's coming. May exam kasi sya this afternoon."
