So Natsu and I got home, and I sat in silence on the couch as he cooked. I was trying my very best to keep tears out of my eyes.
"There's something else, isn't there?" He asked and I looked up, cocking a brow.
"Huh?"
"Well, Gramps and I know, you were pretty cool with us knowing. Why not everybody else?" He asked.
"Because it's my business. Gramps knows because he's an understanding guy. You know because I trust you. And you're my best friend." I sighed.
"I just don't see the big deal." He shrugged.
"Natsu, I was a prostitute. A whore, a slut. I sold myself for a place to sleep at night. Use whatever word you want, but I can't think of anything more pathetic. After meeting all the great people at Fairy Tail, who would never even think of something like that, I just can't compare." I shrugged.
"Oh, so you're ashamed." He said and brought over two bowls as he sat beside me.
"Fuck yes, I'm ashamed. How could I not be?" I sighed, and stared down at the stew, not sure if I was even hungry anymore.
"...something happened." He said and I kept quiet. "Tell me or don't, but you can't hide it forever." He shrugged.
I sighed, then spilled. "Gray and I kissed."
He choked, then looked up in shock. "Gray kissed you?!"
"Well, I technically kissed him, but yeah." I nodded.
"WHAT?!" He yelled, making me jump.
"Calm down!" I yelled back and he set out bowls down on the table and turned us towards each other, and then he seemed at a loss for words.
"How... more importantly, why?" He asked.
"Well, he was being cute." I shrugged.
"Gray? Cute? Ha!" He laughed loudly.
"Look, it's not like it matters. He hasn't done anything since to show if he actually likes me or not." I said, slumping back.
"Do you like him?" Natsu asked.
"I don't know! Just..." I sighed, then groaned.
"Oh, I see. You're worried cos if he were to ever find out..." Natsu started.
"He'd be completely disgusted with me. I know." I rolled my eyes.
"Baz, give him some credit. Sure, he's dumb, but he's nicer than that." Natsu said, and I took his hands in mine.
"Natsu..." I started and looked at him deep in the eyes. "All boys are dumb." I then dropped his hands and sat back again.
"Besides, I'd be disgusted with myself." I sighed and Natsu glared at me.
"Don't say that."
"Wha-"
"Don't say that. Baz, you did what you had to to survive. There's no shame in that." He shook his head, and I looked away, feeling hot tears come up in my eyes.
"I mean, yes, there will be some people who will judge you and look down at you, but you have to ignore them. You're better than this, than them. You know this." He said, pulling me into a hug, and rubbing my back.
We sat there for a while, until I had let all my feelings out. I sat up and wiped under my eyes.
"You know what? You're right, Natsu. At least I'm still kicking." I said and he smiled, getting a few tears I missed.
"That's my Baz."
Happy soon flew in, already talking nonstop. "Can't believe you guys just left me there! And you had stew without me? Hey, was Baz crying? What did I miss?" He asked.
"Nothing much. Come on, Happy. There's probably some stew left." I said, smiling, and got him a bowl.
