I snuck back into the guild hall with a clipboard and pen while Natsu waited outside.
I went around and asked girls their favourite flowers, claiming it was for science. I got to Lucy and she thought long and hard.
"Daisies. White daisies." She nodded. "What's this for?" She asked.
"Science." I said as I scrawled it down. "Say, do you like sweet foods? Like... what kinda food?" I asked.
"Um... yogurt is my favourite." She shrugged.
"Yogurt? Not like, frozen yogurt, but just... yogurt?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah." She smiled.
"Baz!" I heard Natsu whine outside.
"Oh, my Gods... ONE MINUTE, NATSU. GEEZ." I yelled back and rolled my eyes. "Sorry, thank you for your time." I smiled at Lucy.
"BAZ!" He yelled again.
"I'M COMING!" I screamed back, making the guild shake. "Why is he such a kid?" I muttered to myself, walking out.
I went over and smacked Natsu upside his head. "What?!"
"You were taking too long. I got bored." He shrugged, and I hit him again. "Ow! What was that for?" He asked, rubbing his head.
"I was interviewing Lucy to help you on a date for later!" I said and his eyes widened. "All I got were here favourite flower and her favourite food before you got too bored to fucking wait." I said and pulled him off.
"But I guess that's enough to go on for now." I hummed and pulled him over to a flower vendor, pulling out a daisy bouquet, some pink roses, baby's breath, and some bluebells all into one bouquet. I bought them, then a small card.
"Hi. Can I borrow a pen? Thanks. Natsu, hold these and do not set them on fire." I said and hunched over as I wrote out a message, thinking to myself.
"Can you deliver these?" I asked the man.
"We don't deliver." He said in a bored tone.
I put my hands on the side of his face, my eyes burning into his as I concentrated. "You do now. Go to the Fairy Tail guild and deliver these to Lucy Heartfilia. Go." I said, releasing him, and he took the flowers and the card and ran off.
"You know your eyes change colour when you do that?" He asked and I hummed.
"I did not know that. What colour?" I asked as we walked off.
"Like, a fiery gold colour. Not your usual green." He said and I smiled.
"Fun." I hummed and pulled him into another store where we got a plaid blue and pink blanket and a wicker picnic basket.
I dragged him all over Magnolia, buying food, flowers, and gasoline and gunpowder. I even got Natsu a suit. I technically stole it from the store, but the clerk who kind of "gave" it to me doesn't know that now that I wiped his memory of it.
Natsu and I then went to the park I told Lucy to come to at eight in the note, and Natsu got dressed in the bathroom as I cleared the park and shut it down, then made the guards not let anyone come in, except Natsu, Lucy, and myself of course.
I laid down the trail of gunpowder and gasoline, and Natsu and I set up the blanket, flowers, and food for the two of them.
Soon enough, it was about seven fifty, and I was reminding Natsu of what to do, and also fixing his suit up.
"Alright, just be yourself, because thays what she already likes about you. Try not to be too romantic, because that's totally not you, and she'll probable find it weird. When you're ready to ask her, light the gunpowder and gasoline on the other side of the vase of roses, and everything will light up over there." I pointed to the hilltop we set up the picnic perpendicular to.
"What's the hill say?" He asked.
"It says, 'Lucy, be mine?' Not too long, not too short. Gets the message through quite clearly, if I say so myself." I smiled, proud of me.
"Baz, thank you." He said and hugged me.
"Of course, Natsu. Now, I've gotta run. I don't think Lucy would be too happy seeing me here." I said and sped off, calling a 'good luck' behind me as I left.
I got home, undressed, cooked myself dinner, and read as I ate and waited for Natsu to get back and tell me everything, if he even came back.
About three hours later, about eleven at night, he came back looking extremely happy with a flushed face.
"How'd it go?" I jumped up and pulled him to the couch.
"I... I have a girlfriend." He breathed, smiling like an idiot.
"I knew it'd go well!" I beamed and hugged him, and he seemed stunned. Dazed, even.
"I can't thank you enough, Baz. Honestly, I can't. Lucy looked so happy, so pretty. She even said she'd been waiting for me to ask her for a while now. She kissed me." He breathed and I jumped up and down excitedly, clapping my hands together.
"Oh, I'm so happy for you, Natsu!" I beamed and he gathered me in a hug again.
"Thank you so much. I seriously owe you. Baz, you're the bestest friend I've ever had." He sighed, and that was what made me happy.
