So, a few days later, Natsu, Happy, and I have been gone a week and a half, and we decided we should probably get back home. We packed all of our stuff early in the morning and mom gave us some food for the way and a huge bottle of ale to drink.
I'll be honest, I drank a little before we left, and Natsu and I sipped it as we walked back to Magnolia. At some point we started singing, and someone in a wagon offered us a ride, saying he was passing by Magnolia, but he could drop us off when he got there. So we hopped in, thanking him, and sat back.
It took hours, again, for us to get back, but we did get there before dinner time rather than after, thanks to the wagon.
Also at this point, we were drunk, so we walked through the streets, singing as well. Well, I was singing, but Natsu joined me at the chorus.
"She asked me why the singer's name was Alice I said listen baby you really wouldn't understand
And I said baby if you wanna be my lover you better take me home
'cause it's a long long way to paradise and I'm still on my own on my own
Oh baby if you wanna be my lover you better take me home
'cause it's a long long way to paradise and I'm still on my own oh...!"
We were home and Natsu clapped for me and I took a bow before dropping my bag and flopping on our bed.
"You should eat before we sleep..." Natsu said and fell on the bed next to me anyway.
"You should... go suck a dick." I mumbled through my exhaustion.
"I'm not gay." He said.
"Go suck a dick anyway." I shrugged and he shrugged as well, and the both of us passed out.
When we woke up the next morning, I woke Natsu up by falling out of bed and racing to the bathroom, vomiting.
"Whoa! Baz, you okay?" Natsu stood behind me and held my hair for me, also rubbing my back as I clutched the toilet bowl.
"I'm hung...over, Natsu, what do you think?" I sarcastically said, gagging in the middle, then continued to vomit.
"I told you you should've eaten." He said and I just didn't reply, instead gagging a little more before it was clear I was done.
I flushed and stood up to fix my face and brush my teeth. "Come on, we gotta get to Fairy Tail." I sighed and he looked at me.
"So soon?" He asked.
"They haven't seen us in a week and a half, Natsu. We better tell them we're alive." I rolled my eyes, starting to brush my teeth.
"No, I get it. I just thought you would want to wait a day or two." He shrugged and went to get dressed.
Once we were ready, we walked down as Happy flew, and both of us took deep breaths before we walked in together, Happy soaring above us and doing flips around the room.
"We're back, guys!" He announced and landed in Lucy's lap. "I missed you, Lucy!" He said and hugged her, and she held him before looking up at us, then running to Natsu and hugging him.
"You...! I missed you so much, I didn't know if you were coming back, I just..." Lucy rambled a bit before kissing him, and I looked away to give them some privacy.
"It's good to have you two back." Erza said, coming up and putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Thanks. And you don't have to hug me. Actually, please don't hug me, because I have a hangover, and your armor might kill me." I said and she chuckled before gently giving me a hug.
"This okay?" She asked.
"Yeah." I sighed and hugged her as well, but then Lucy hugged me.
"And of course I missed you, Baz! Are you okay? Are you feeling better? How are you?" Lucy fretted over me, and I laughed.
"I'm fine, Lucy. I swear. And I'm sorry, I tried to convince Natsu to stay, but..." I said and Natsu put his arm around my neck and his head next to mine.
"He's persistent." Lucy nodded.
"He's a hardass." I said and Natsu pinched my cheek.
"Hey, you know I gotta look out for you, and I was not about to let you travel alone, halfway across Fiore." He said, and Lucy smiled.
"He's such a sweetheart." Lucy said and hugged him again, and Natsu smiled brighter than the sun to have her back in his arms.
"You guys are so cute. I cannot wait until you get married." I said.
"Whoa, jumping the gun there, Baz." Natsu stared wide-eyed at me as Lucy blushed.
"Oh, come on, Natsu! Everyone knows it! You guys are perfect for each other, and you're so in love, it's beautiful as shit." I said.
Natsu leaned towards me and poked my nose. "Then will you be my best woman?" He asked.
"Duh. Who else would be by your side when you get married?" I shrugged and he beamed.
"Then it's settled!" He said and high fived me.
"Wait, what just happened?" Lucy asked as we grinned at her.
"You just got engaged." I said.
"No, wait, I didn't sign up for this. Can't we wait a couple years?!" Lucy said and we laughed.
"A couple years until you get married, sure." I nodded.
Lucy yelled in surprise as we all laughed, and then Gray came in, and my face fell.
