I maneuvered my way around the crowded hallway. I was a bit upset with what had happened this morning between Keir and I. I just wanted the day to be over with so I could go home and work on my homework, ignoring him as much as possible.

I turned from my locker and bumped into someone, causing me to drop my things and them as well. . "I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention." I apologized bending down to pick up my books.

"It's okay." He said reaching over and handing me my history book. "You're new here, right?" He asked as we got to our feet.

"Yeah, I moved here this summer."

"I've seen you around. Didn't want to just walk up to you and be like hey new girl. But since you bumped into me." He laughed.

"I'm Harper." I smiled.

"Brad." He smiled proudly. "So what class do you have first?"

"History."

"I have Spanish. Can I walk with you?"

"Sure." I shrugged. I couldn't really tell him no, now could I. The halls were only so big and the Spanish room was next to the History one.

"So, made any friends?" He asked casually.

"Nope."

"Really? Wow." He shook his head. "Well consider me you're new friend." He smiled. I returned the smile and tried my best to keep up with him. "You can sit with me at lunch if you want? You might gain some new friends there."

"Okay." I agreed.

Lunch approached quickly and I found myself in the cafeteria at a table with Brad and his friends. They were all surprisingly friendly and welcomed me quickly into their little group.

"So, are you going to the dance?" Brad asked.

"Dance?" I questioned.

He chuckled and pointed to a poster not far from the table. "Some sort of Christmas dance."

"You can't say Christmas, dude. It's Holiday dance." Larry, who I learned was Brads best friend and captain of the baseball team, said.

"Oh boo who. Anyone here offended? No then it's a damn Christmas dance."

"Actually, I'm offended." I spoke up.

"Seriously?" Gemma asked across from me.

"No." I smiled.

"Don't do that!" Brad laughed.

"And to answer your question. I don't think so."

"Why not?" Larry asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Just not into those things I guess." Gemma nodded in agreement with me and picked up her orange and began to peel it.

Lunch time was coming to an end. We were finished eating and were just sitting at the table talking.

"So Harper." I turned my attention away from Gemma. My eyes landed on Lance, captain of the wrestling team. "Single?"

"No."

"Who's the lucky man?" Brad winked.

"You don't know him. He's not from here." It wasn't a complete lie. Keir really wasn't from here, but they all knew him.

"Name?" Larry asked leaning his elbows on the table to look at me.

"Cedric." I answered smoothly. Again not a total lie, since his middle name was in deed Cedric.

"What an unusual name."

"Not really." Gemma spoke up. "Its actually more common than you think. My grandfathers name was Cedric."

"Will we ever meet this guy?" Brad asked nudging me a little.

I smiled. "Maybe."

"How serious are you guys?" Lance asked.

"I'm not sure." I lied.

"Will he be at graduation?" Larry asked.

I laughed. "He should be."

The bell rang signaling the end of lunch. We headed our sperate ways to get to our lockers.
