I arrived home and made my way to the apartment. I didn't stop and check the parking lot for Keir's car so I didn't know if he was home or not. When I got to the apartment I checked the doorknob. It was unlocked. I knew he had to be home. I pushed open the door and walked inside. I slipped off my shoes and looked around the room. He wasn't in the kitchen and everything was quiet, so I knew he wasn't in the living room. I made my way down the hall to his office. The door was open so I just stood in the doorway watching him.

He looked deep thought looking at some papers. No doubt he was in the process of grading. "There's something incredibly sexy about an Irish man grading papers, shirtless." I said from the doorway.

He looked up and smiled like an idiot. "Really now?" He asked pushing his chair back and motioning for me to go over.

"Yup." I nodded and walked over to him.

He glanced at the clock on the wall. "I didn't expect you home so soon."

"I can go back if you want?"

"No. No." He shook his head and pulled me down on his lap. "Just didn't think you would be home so quickly. I had plans for dinner."

"Oh did you?"

"Yup." He said.

"You can still keep the plans though."

He chuckled softly. "I plan on it."

"So what are we doing for dinner?"

"That my love is a surprise." He flicked my nose. "How was your chat with Lance."

"Good actually."

"Is he for sure, for sure, going to keep our secret?"

"Yes."

"Did he tell you why?"

"Yup."

"Can you tell me?"

"I could but I'm not sure if I should." He narrowed his eyes at me so I continued. "It's personal and I'm not sure if it would be okay with him if I told you. Maybe he'll tell you himself."

"Understandable. You trust him?"

"Yes. I know we just became friends and all, but after he told me what he did. I do trust him."

"I trust him if you do."

"You smell so good." He said softly with his nose pushed up against my neck. "Like cinnamon and caramel. I like it." I giggled when his beard tickled me as he started sniffing my neck down to my collar bone. He planted a gentle kiss there and trailed back up to my neck and along my jaw. I closed my eyes at his touch. "I love you Harper."

"I love you too." I smiled. "Did you know Lance is switching English periods?"

"I know." He nodded. "Do you know why?"

"Yeah. Do you?"

"Yes. But I want to see if the reasons match up. I have the email right here. Tell me what he told you."

"He told me that he needed to take P.E during his English period and has to be moved into English last period."

"He did not lie." He nodded his head in approval. "That is what the guidance counselor informed me."

"Will that be a problem for you? To have him in the same class as me?"

"Of course not." He smiled and rubbed his nose against mine.

"You sure? He's a very good looking guy and we get along great."

"Are you trying to make me jealous?" He asked tightening his grip on my waist.

"Nope." I smiled.

"Because I'm not jealous of some high school boy. I know that you love me and I know that you are mine. Nothing has happened to make me think otherwise."

"You are just too cute."

"Thanks." He laughed. "Now go get ready so we can go out to dinner."

"Out to dinner? Keir I don't think we should. What if someone sees us?"

"Don't worry about it." He smiled. Just go get dressed and we'll head out."

I hesitated but got off his lap and made my way to the door. I looked back at him to see him grinning for ear to ear.I made my way into the bedroom to find something to wear.

"That cute blue dress you got during the summer would be nice!" I heard Keir holler from the other room. I sighed and walked towards the closed to fetch it. I laid it out on the bed, grabbed a pair of black pantyhose and started pairing shoes and whatever else I could find with it.

I had just gotten dressed and Keir walked into the room. He smiled when he saw me. But then he frowned. "Change of plans, love."

"What happened?" I questioned.

"I need to head over to the school to chaperon the dance. A teacher suddenly got sick and couldn't do it. I'm sorry."

"That's okay." I smiled.

"You could come."

"I might." I winked.

"We'll go out to eat tomorrow. How about that?"

"Sounds good to me."

"Good I want to bring you out before I leave."

I kept the dress I had on and grabbed his hand. Together we walked out of the apartment and headed to his car.
