A/N: I apologize for the wait. It's been hard to get any writing done.
P.S. He's just so handsome. I love him!* * * * * * *
I convicted Gemma that I would get a ride home with Lance. She eventually left and I headed for the locker room and waited outside the doors. Carter exited shortly after my arrival. He smiled and pulled me away from the locker room doors.
"You're dating Mr. O'Connor, aren't you?" He smiled.
"What gave you that idea?" I asked, panic starting to set in.
He chuckled. "You were watching him."
"I wasn't. I was watching everyone." I argued.
"Oh please." He snorted. "Your eyes were glued to him."
I sighed and looked down at the ground. "Go ahead. Tell me I'm a horrible person. Report us."
"Why on Earth would I do that?" He questioned. I looked up at him in surprise. He smiled a wide smile at me. "I would never rat you guys out."
"Why not?"
"Because you're my friend. Now tell me the details. How long have you been together?"
"Two years." I paused. "Going on three this year. But we were friends two years before that."
"So you guys didn't just randomly hook up after you moved here?" He said sounded a little disappointed.
I laughed. "No. I knew him before he began teaching. In fact that's why I'm here."
"Oh?"
"He convinced my parents into letting me transfer here. So we could be closer to each other. But I think he worried about me being home alone."
"Alone?"
"My parents work a lot and are never home."
"I see why he wanted you here now." He nodded. "So you guys are like serious then?"
"Yup." I smiled.
"Really now?" He joked. I rolled my eyes and pulled my necklace from under my shirt. I watched his eyes widen and I smirked.
"Oh yeah. We're pretty serious."
"Wow." He breathed.
"Beautiful. I know."
"I did not expect that at all." He said softly as I put the chain away. "I'm happy for you."
"You haven't known me that long." I giggled making me smile.
"True." He nodded. "But we have a connection. Like we're best friends."
I shrugged, not able to respond. The locker room door opened and guys started to hurry out. Carter and I stayed where we were and watched them. I kept my eyes out for Lance so I could get a ride home.
I spotted Lances blond hair and made my way over to him. Carter quickly followed. Lance was deep in conversation with Keir and neither of them saw us approaching. I walked up behind Lance and wrapped my arms around his waist and leaned my head on his shoulder.
"Congrats on making the team." I told him.
"Thanks." He chuckled.
"You look a little jealous there, O'Connor." I heard Carter snicker. My head shot up to see Keir looking at Lance and I with a look in his eye.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Keir said calmly, but I could see his jaw flexing.
"I'm sure. You want her arms around you. She is your fiancé after all." Keir's eyes widened and he looked at me. I shook my head and pulled away from Lance. Keir wasted no time and pulled me to him. Carter smiled.
"How do you know?" Keir growled.
Carter held up his hand in surrender. "The way she was watching you."
Keir turned his attention to me and sighed. "Hey don't be upset with me. Gemma and I were both curious as to who twenty five was. Carter said it was you. I had to see if you were any good."
"Love, if I wasn't any good, I wouldn't be on the team." Keir smiled.
"He's not wrong." Lance laughed. "Coach saw him helping me out before tryouts and automatically gave him a spot on the team."
"I didn't know you wanted to join." I said to Keir.
"I didn't. But it's quite fun."
"Will you have time?" Carter asked.
"I'll manage." He smiled. "Shall we head home?" He asked me.
"Sure. Do you want Lance dropping me off?" I asked.
"No. I'll bring you."
"You sure?"
"What if someone sees you?" Lance asked.
Keir shrugged and grabbed my hand. "See you next practice." He said to Carter, who nodded. "And I'll see you at school. Please pick Harper up before school. I'm afraid I haven't been able to look at her car." He said to Lance.
"I'll be there."
With that Keir started walking away with my hand in his making me follow. When we got to the doors I tried to get my hand out of his, but he wouldn't let me. We walked out the door that lead to the parking lot. I was thankful no one was around. I quickly got into his car just in case. He got in next and started the car.
I waited in silence for awhile as we drove to our apartment, before I spoke. "Were you jealous, Keir?"
"When?" He asked glancing at me for a second before turning his attention back to the road.
"You know when." I rolled my eyes, even though he wasn't looking.
"I wasn't."
"I saw the look you gave us."
"My love I was not jealous. But it did however get me thinking."
"About what?"
"We'll talk about it another day. Right now I just want to go home and snuggle up with you and watch a movie of your choice." He turned to me and flashed me a toothy grin.
"I could go for that as well." I told him. He reached over and took my hand in his and gave it a light squeeze. "But not a late night. School tomorrow." He chuckled a response as he pulled into the parking garage of the apartment building.
