"Come on Harper." Gemma whined.
"Do I have to?" I frowned.
"Of course you have to." She rolled her eyes. "It's bad enough they didn't tell us about prom until last minute."
"I think two weeks is long enough." I told her has I grabbed a shirt out of the closet and slipped it on.
"Two months would have been better." She mumbled.
"Alright then; lets go." I sighed.
"Yay!" She squealed. "So, where is Keir today?"
"He went out to lunch with Lance. He should be back soon."
"Will he be mad that you're gone?"
"No." I shook my head and grabbed my keys off the key holder. "I'll just text him and let him know where we're going." I grabbed my phone and set him a quick text telling him I was heading out with Gemma for Prom.
Gemma and I exited the house and I made sure it was locked. As we headed for my car my phone went off with a text from Keir, wishing us luck and telling us to be careful. I smiled and replied an 'I love you'. He replied instantly with an 'I love you too'.
"So where exactly are we going?" I asked Gemma as I buckled up and started my car.
"Um," She paused and looked out the side window for a second. "How about the mall?"
"We were just there the other day." I sighed looking at her confused.
"Yeah we were. But lets go again."
"You're strange." I laughed as I started to drive.
* * * *
Of course Gemma had to walk into every store in the mall, while I sluggishly followed her. Finally she came to a stop outside a small shop. She turned with a wicked smile on her face.
"Why are you smiling like that?" I asked freaked out a little.
"I saw a dress in the window. You're trying it on." She chirped. Before I could talk a look at the dress she pulled me inside the shop and pushed me into an empty changing room.
"What would have happened if this was occupied?" I asked.
"But it wasn't." She sang. "Now stay put while I got get that dress!"
I sat down on the bench and folded my arms in annoyance. I was worried about what the dress looked like. Gemma's taste wasn't the same as mine. She loved bright colors, whereas I preferred darker tones. She liked longer skirts. I liked short. She like thick straps on her shoulders. I liked strapless or a thin strap around my neck.
Gemma came back and pulled open the door. "Here you go." Without saying another word she shut the door.
"I hate you."
"Oh shut up. I want to see it when you have it on."
Mumbling a few profanities under my breath I stripped down to try it out. As I expected it wasn't my style. Reluctantly I stepped out of the changing room. Gemma was sitting on a chair just outside the changing area. I walked over to her with a disgusted look on my face.
"Oh it's beautiful!" She cheered as she jumped to her feet. "How does it feel?"
"Okay, but it's not me."
"Of course not." She laughed. "It's for me."
"Then why did you have me try it on?"
"Because I wanted to make sure it looked good on someone."
