I waited in the coffee shop for Lance to show up. He had messaged me this morning telling me to meet him here at one. I arrived a little late because of Keir, but Lance wasn't there yet. So I ordered myself an iced cappuccino and sat myself down where he could see me.

I heard the ding of the door go off as someone entered the shop. I looked over and saw Lance walking over to me.

"Glad you came." He smiled taking the seat in front of me.

"Well you asked me to meet you here." I laughed.

"I didn't think you would. I thought he might make you stay." I shook my head. "I'm going to go order myself a drink and then we'll get talking." Then he was gone and at the counter ordering.

In a minute he walked back over and took his seat back. He took a sip of his drink and put it down on the table.

"So, why did you want to meet me?" I asked.

He smiled. "You wanted to know why I'm keeping your secret right?" I nodded. "Well I'm about to tell you." I nodded and waited patiently for him to begin. "You see my mother was young when she had me." I didn't see how this had another to do with my current situation, but it let him speak. "My mother had me when she was sixteen. My father was her teacher and he was arrested. I grew up without a father because he was in jail. When he got out he looked up my mother and they got married. They're still together to this day." He smiled.

"What does that have to do with my situation?" I asked.

He chuckled. "I'm getting to it." He took a sip of his drink and I did the same. "Sophomore year I found myself head over heels for someone. Someone I shouldn't have fallen for." He shook his head. "Keir actually took over her place."

"What?" I asked shocked.

He smiled and continued. "I had an affair with a teacher. She was young. She was beautiful. Everything was going fine until the principal walked in at the wrong time. I had her pushed up against the back wall. Her shirt undone. My mouth on her neck. Her hands in my trousers." He licked his lip at the memory. "Long story short. We were caught and she was arrested. Turns out her moaning could be heard from the hall and a senior alerted the office."

"Wow."

"I was hurt. I don't want to see you hurt the same way. You seem to have known him a lot longer than I knew her."

"Yeah. I've known him for a few years."

"He wasn't a teacher then was he?"

"No."

"Your case is different then mine. But I don't want to see you go through what I did. I don't want you guys to get caught and then your fiance goes away for awhile."

"How did you know?" I gasped. I never told him we were engaged.

He chuckled. "He announced to the class once that he was happily engaged. Never thought about it until just now when I saw the ring on your necklace. It's lovely."

"Thanks." I smiled and sipped the rest of my drink. We sat there in silence for awhile. "Do you miss her?" I asked.

"Yes and no. I loved her."

"Wait. Loved?"

He smiled sheepishly and started playing with the button on his jacket. "Turns out she was married."

I gasped. "I'm so sorry."

"Don't be. I'm glad I know the truth now. Before things went too far." I nodded in agreement and drank the last bit of my drink. "You want another one? Or do you have to go?"

"I'm in no hurry to get home." I smiled at him.

"I'll be back." He got up and walked to the counter. I really wasn't in a hurry to get home. Keir gone grocery shopping; something I usually did, but because he was leaving on Tuesday he figured he would save me trouble. I knew he was still feeling bad about leaving by the way he was acting. I was just going to milk it for all it's worth. Lance came back and placed the two drinks down on the table. "I didn't know what you wanted. I should have asked." He chuckled. "But the lady at the cash said you had an iced cappuccino. So she made you the same one you had."

"Thank you."

"No problem." He smiled and took a sip of his cup. "Have any questions for me?"

"Nope."

"Do you think Cedric would be pissed if I transferred to your class?" He questioned.

"I don't think so. Why on earth would you want to do that? English last period is the worst." I said wrinkling up my nose making him laugh.

"I actually need to. I need to take P.E and the only time they can get me in there is during first, which is my English period. So I'm switching into your English."

"Oh boy. Both you and Larry in the same class as me. I'm going to faint." I faked a dizzy spell.

"I'm not that bad."

"No you're not. Larry on the other hand."

"I hear you there." He laughed.

We sat in the coffee shop for another hour before we decided to leave. I offered Lance a ride home, knowing that he didn't have a car. He smiled and happily excepted my offer. I didn't need him to give me the directions this time. He nodded his head in approval when I pulled into his driveway. After a quick goodbye he got out and ran into his house. I started driving home.
