I couldn't diverge my gaze from him.
Even Koro-sensei praised how successful he had become in the following years."Artificial human, you say? Is that why the government is involved?" I asked.
"Indeed. We have many other projects just like him. Well, he's the newer version and it's been easier to deal with him."
"A beauty." My eyes couldn't look away from him. I didn't know why I felt so compelled to know more, to ask more. I wonder if he's just a emotionless walking piece of scrap metal?
"Today is your first day," he spoke, "this is your desk." He walked along and not far from where we stood and showed me where I was working. "Aguri said that you'll take whatever job available. A good work ethic." He complemented.
Well that's true but I don't know if I'm the kind of science nerd that would find work, just because it's related to science. I don't even know if this place is actually safe.
When I really took a look around, there was nobody else in this room. Just the space between the glass and the actual room itself."Is there a reason why there are no other desks in here? Is it just a me working in here? Alone?" I nervously questioned.
"Your teacher said you were capable of such work and so you'll be placed in this ward by yourself." He replied, "observing, recording, and data is all that you need to worry about."
Koro-sensei pointed at the glass wall, "everything else is all set. Karma's programed at a level 2. Not much movement but that's why you're here. To make notices on his behavior and such." He explained.
"And if anything were to happen." Koro-sensei walked backwards and pointed at multiple red buttons, "press these. The place will go under lock down."
"T-that's-."
"Scary?"
"I suppose." I nodded my head.
"Usually, nothing really happens." He assured.
"Fumes leak here and there, subjects run amok, nothing extreme."
"Any questions?" Koro-sensei faced me.
"Um-uh, does he do anything else?" I looked back over at him, as he was sitting there without any movement.
"If you're lucky, you'll see him not on or near the bed. A few times he would get just close enough to touch the glass. Other than that, his programming is still not complete." He explained. "Don't expect too much."
"Alright."
"Okay then." Koro-sensei looked at his watch again and wrapped the conversation up. He brought me over to the main department of the facility and handed me a few packets.
"Have these signed by tomorrow. They're all about safety and all the good stuff. If I were you, just don't read the fine print."
I blankly stared at him and wondered why he was so lenient about the papers.
"I know, I know. I get that I'm not as strict. However, it shouldn't hinder the fact that you want to work right?" He grinned.
"I'm going to read it." I rejected his ways, "I want to know what I'm signing up for. Rather than be safe then sorry." I confessed.
"Ah, yeah. Your way of perceiving things will change over the course of your time here. Everyone that signs into this kind of work, knows what they're joining. As a wise man, it's all about risks. And to make it better, the pay is $16 an hour." He winked.

When I made it home, my mother was the first to greet me. Her gorilla hands that clawed onto my shoulders with no sympathy at all.
