Flashback part 8:

I turned around and realised that the brown haired boy performing the weird seals earlier had been knocked unconscious by our jutsus as well.

I stalked closer to the drenched tag on the floor, its red marks now, a shade of dark pink.

"Tsumake Kaishin!"

I closed my eyes and allowed a few seconds to roll by, feeling the pulse of intense chakra just beneath my eyelids and opened them, relishing it's intense power.

I glanced at the dark pink marks on the tag and observed that they were laced with a purplish chakra that still lingered faintly.

'How strange'

I thought.

'Usually if the user dies, the chakra would disappear as well. It is only natural for the chakra to fade, rendering the tag useless. '

I thought again.

"What do you see, Kasumi?"

I whipped my head around and saw Kakashi's Sharingan spinning to life, his eyes fixated on the tag.

After he seemed satisfied, his gaze shifted to me, before his face contorted into an unrecognisable look of shock, his eyes seemed to be carefully scruntinising mine.

I uncomfortably shifted in place.

"What?"

I finally blurted out.

Kakashi averted my questioning gaze, before quickly meeting them again.

"It's ... your eyes. They are like mine. I didn't know you had a kekkei genkai as well."

He stuttered before quickly changing the topic, adopting his cold, heartless tone again.

"So, what do you see? "

He knelt down this time, getting a closer view of the markings.

"Be careful!"

I exclaimed, tugging his hand violently from the tag he was reaching out to touch. Due to my monstrous strength amplified by my kekkei genkai,
he was thrown aback harder than expected.

Stunned by the sudden action, he had pulled me along for support. I stumbled and tripped on his right leg, my body fell right smack into his.

" Oof!"

We both squealed in pain as I collapsed into him.

"What was tha..!"

He cut his words off suddenly, causing me to look up in curiosity. My eyes met his pink-tinted cheeks. Even though he had his mask on, I could tell he was blushing badly.

My head landed on his chest, my right leg in between both of his, and his arms were wrapped around my waist, as a reflex from the fall earlier.

" ugh... "

I broke off the contact and pushed myself up.

" Seems like my kekkei genkai is superior to yours. You couldn't even see the strange purplish chakra behind the tag? "

I scoffed and held out my hand when I realised he was still lying on the floor.

"Hn."

He took my hand, his eyes avoiding my taunting gaze.
Once he had regained composure, he squatted down again, pulling me down with him.

"Tell me what else you see. There shouldn't be chakra left because it's users are obviously dead."

He commanded, his voice cold again. I sighed, giving in and knelt down, focusing hard on the tag.

My eyes widened. After greater concentration, there were some markings that went unnoticed under my merciless scrutiny under the purplish chakra.

'Wait a second! That's.. that's not chakra! '

I thought and placed two fingers together.

" Kai!"

Kakashi turned to me, alarmed by my sudden outburst and looked back at the seal with wide eyes.

"There was no chakra! It was a genjutsu cast on all of us to slow us down from reaching Minato Sensei!"

Kakashi mustered, in disbelief at how we had all been pranked. I shot my head towards where Obito was and realised that he was not there anymore.

"Shit!"

I leaped up to the tree and scanned the area with my Tsumake Kaishin. A chakra figure was leaping away into the distance quickly. I shot Kakashi a look and he quickly nodded. We proceeded to chase after the chakra figure, hot on his heels.
