Flashback part 16

'Barely made it out alive, but I think I'd rather not'
----

I approached the familiar greying house.

The trees that surrounded it were ungroomed and a couple had fallen.

The destruction looked intentional and the cleanly punctured holes on the stems of once-alive trees had given me a rough idea of Kakashi's mental state of mind.

I had better be careful.

Wanting to no longer waste time, I cut to the chase and sped to the front door of the slightly eerie home that used to radiate a gentle warmth.

It now seemed nothing like a home, instead, it resembled a deserted one.

But I knew Kakashi was in there. I could sense his chakra from outside the house.

"Kakashi, it's me! "

/
' You left us all, stranded '
/

I tapped the door twice, waiting for a response.

I rolled my eyes as I continued to tap harder this time, shouting now.

"OII kaka Baka! I know you're in there! I can sense you! "

/
' You insolent liar'
/

I sighed when no response was returned.

I really didn't want to do this...

But I guess I have no choice.

I rolled up my sleeves and channeled my chakra to my fists.

When it felt right, I drew my fist back for extra measure and threw my weight forth.

/
' You ungrateful brat '
/

Craaack!

The entire door slammed into the floor front first, revealing a messy and rubbish strewn floor.

"Wow... not what I had expected from the immaculately clean Kakashi"

I pondered aloud as I felt my pouch for my kunai.

One could never be more ready, right?

I finally reached Kakashi's room, his door was slightly ajar.

I peered in, trying to be as discreet as possible.

My brows furrowed.

Kakashi had his outer vest strewn on his bed.

His body was curled on the floor that was strewn in clothes, paper, books and a whole lot of other things.

I continued to observe the heartbreaking sight as I realised that he was trembling badly.

I didn't know what to do.
