Flashback part 20

A deafening silence was cast upon the once lively forest, filled with warfare melodies. Now, it was silent and laced with thick tension.

A goggled Uchiha stood above the now bloodied, decapitated man, his eyes glazed with rage that was slowly fading.

His gaze was cast upon the lifeless man whom he had just mercilessly killed with his bare hands and his rawly awakened eye prowess - the Sharingan.

Rin, Kasumi and Kakashi stood rooted to their positions, watching in disbelief as they rubbed their eyes, seeing if it was simply a figment of their imagination or was it really unfolding before their very eyes.

That boy... Obito?

Impossible.

Obito would never harm a single soul.

No matter how angered,
or hurt by it.

He wouldn't....

They knew better that he would never resort to such cruel means ...

Did they?

All eyes were glued onto the sole Uchiha, watching his every move.

The Uchiha slowly bent down next to the lifeless corpse.

The three team mates were confused and curious as to what their team mate wanted to do.

He drew his kunai out from his sling pouch, his nimble fingers twirling around the sleek and smooth surface of the blunt edge as he finally pointed the kunai downwards.

In a swift movement, the kunai was embedded into the already lifeless man's neck, and more darkened blood squirted from the fresh wound, blood now pooling around Obito's feet.

Rin gasped, staring upon the boy she thought she knew disbelievingly.

Kakashi's eye was wide, unable to remain his usual stoic appearance.

Kasumi bit her tongue, refraining herself from showing any form of emotions.

Obito's head drew closer toward the dead man, as he uttered words that none could hear.

Rin and Kakashi unconsciously drew their bodies forward, trying desperately to comprehend the words that were spoken.

Only Kasumi had stayed rooted to the ground, her bright eyes madly pulsing. It seemed that whatever she managed to lip read off Obito's lips were the cause of her stillness.

Her eyes finally glazed over before she deactivated her kekkei genkai.

Suddenly, she stalked forward, bypassing the stricken Kakashi and Rin who were furiously staring at her.

She got to the clearing where Obito was and stalked to his side.

She placed a gentle hand on his shoulder and he reflexively shot his head upwards to her.

She didn't show or admit, but she was startled and at the slightest bit scared of his reaction.

His anger seemed directed at her before he seemed to finally snap back to reality and realise who she was.
