Flashback part 21:

I was flying through the forest. My legs were so numb I couldn't feel them anymore.

Please.. please be alright

I prayed silently for the safety of my teammates as I found myself making a dash for the very same cave that brought serenity to me.

It was equally as stunning as before, the only difference now being that all serenity I felt staring at the cave had disappeared, replaced by a brewing, horrible feeling in my gut.

I quickly reached the opening of the looming darkness and ran forth into the darkness without a tinge of hesitation.

My mind spun with all possible situations my teammates could have been facing at that very moment.

It soon came to a point when I couldn't see a single thing in the pitch black cave and the darkness was starting to feed on my flickering hope of finding my teammates.

I had no idea where I was, no indication of where my teammates were and close to zero hopes of finding them or even getting out of this cave alive.

At this moment, I flinched. Hearing shuffles from afar that seemed way too loud due to the long period of deathly silence I had been put through. Anything akin to a pin drop now sounded a hundred times louder.

My heart picked up pace as I found myself feeling extremely unsettled as I had lost my sense of vision. I was at a grave disadvantage if the shuffles belonged to an enemy.

Suddenly, a sharp object flew towards my side, only allowing me to sense it's approach when it was barely 3 inches away. I side stepped as quick as I could but it slid right through my left arm, causing me to wince in pain.

I was too slow.

At this point, I could easily be defeated. I groaned internally, my body was in the worst condition to fight, let alone in a pitch black environment, when my hip was now a major disability, and my mental instability growing each second not knowing where and how my teammates were.

I had to survive.

"Who are you? What do you want?"

I spat out defensively.

A plan was now forming in my extremely frenzied mind as I tried to stall a couple more moments.

Chuckles resonated through the silent, unnaturally still air.

I took a deep breath, closing my eyes and shut off my eye prowess.

It's powers were now rendered useless in a situation like this. It would only be a distraction.

I focused hard, the loss of one of the five senses had evidently sharpened the remaining four. I listened hard to every accidental brush, step, or creak.

"I am the God of eternal darkness. Now that you've disrupted the natural settings of this haven, you shall perish by my very hands."

There!

North east of where I was. 5 metres from centre.

" I swear I wouldn't have entered this cave if it weren't for screams I heard coming from here! "

I replied, hoping this maniac self-proclaiming god wasn't all that insane.
