Flashback part 19

Kasumi's P.O.V:

" I'll distract them captain "

I whispered into Kakashi's ear just before leaping toward the mass of chakra bodies.

I collided violently into a group of unsuspecting fellows, taking them down in the process as I landed.

Everyone had now turned to face the huge source of distraction--- me.

I got into a defence stance and positioned my katana directly in front of me, my pulsing eyes zeroing into the mass of agitated soldiers that lined in front of me.

I allowed my eye to roam for a bit,  watching as the silver haired Captain treaded his way through the distracted mass of bodies before settling my gaze back toward the ones in front.

I cocked a brow, the edges of my lips tugging up, as if taunting them, egging them to begin their attack.

There was a slight twitch of eye brows of a brown haired fellow in front of me which seemed to show his agitation reaching its peak before he tore forward, aiming his kunai towards me as he yelled what seemed to be his last utter of warfare before he died tragically by my very hands that slammed into his neck, tightening my grip around its bended edge, until there was a ear-deafening crack that resounded.

There was a similar glint of fear that seemed to falter within the eyes of the shinobi in front of me as they watched the death of their team mate before their very eyes.

Nevertheless, the brave ones initiated and rushed towards me, the rest following closely behind and I braced for the attack.

Ram - Monkey - Boar - Horse - Tiger

My hands weaved through the familiar signs as I slammed my hands together to end the technique.

"Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu"

I muttered under my breath silently as I turned my deadly glare toward the next victims awaiting my wrath.

I felt the chakra knead and take form within my being, rushing toward the centre of my lungs and I got ready to exhale, taking in a deep breath.

And then it hit.

A massive orb of roaring flame expelled from my mouth, engulfing the swarm of soldiers in front of me.

I clasped my hands together, mustering more chakra towards my lungs, willing my technique to last longer so more soldiers would be thankfully eradicated.

Muffled wails of pain and screams were heard until they died down along with the fire, leaving a much scaled down group of 6 soldiers, now cowering in fear, having seen the extent of damage done by a single blow.

I couldn't help but smirk in satisfaction, seeing that my skills had improved quite a bit from my previous battle.

The silver haired Captain had finally met my eyes, taking in the feat before him, a silent glint of approval in his eyes before he turned his attention back to the supposed 'leader'.

" Reveal your identity assailant."

Kakashi's harsh tone was definite, enough to send a chill down the 6 soldiers' spines, and undoubtably, mine as well.

A few painfully slow seconds passed by as all eyes trained on the now, very obvious leader of the pack.

My eyes narrowed a fraction as the leader broke into a eerie smile.
