"Minato sensei! What type of mission were we assigned?"

Obito inquisitively questioned as we sped to the front gates of Konoha.

We each had our filled pouches strapped to our sides, ready and prepared for the next mission Minato sensei had told us about.

Or maybe we thought we had everything we needed to be prepared for this next mission...

But we did forget to prepare for something...

Death.

We all came to a sudden halt as we noticed Minato sensei's sudden stop when the approaching main gates of Konoha were in sight.

We stared at Minato sensei, puzzled at his sudden halt.

He signalled for us to gather in front of him and we obliged.

He had a deadly serious front put up as he briefed us regarding this Mission.

" Alright, Team Minato. I have to tell you all something honestly. First, even though all of you are chunins except for Kakashi who is a jonin, this next Mission assigned to all of you will be a A level rank mission which could easily cause the deaths of any of you.

If not, all.

This is because unidentified forces have been starting to invade Konoha from the ends.

And from the intel division, we have gathered that the mass of the attacking forces could be large enough to start the Third Shinobi War.

Apparently, we have received notices from other villages that they are also facing the same situation.

Which is why most of the elite ninjas are unavailable for this mission.

Hence, the hokage has dispatched the four of you for this mission as you all are deemed capable.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to lead you all in this mission as I myself, has been assigned the task of defending the North End of Konoha from the unidentified forces.

So, for this mission, I would like to delegate the role of captain to Kakashi, the highest status ninja in this team. You all will have to work together in order to keep the entire team alive. So, Kakashi, lead them well. Good luck my students. "

He gave us a wink before disappearing into a puff of white.

Apparently, that was his clone. He was probably fighting off the invaders right now.

Kakashi turned to us, his eyes now glazed with a shade of coldness.

"Just try your best not to get in the way. "

I was horrified.

Was he kidding?!

I sighed and we all leaped off through the gates of Konoha, heading for the village of Sound.
