"Ouch!" I hit my finger as I nailed up a target on a tree. I shook my finger and put it in my mouth as Mason came out of the Mystery Shack.

Mason handed me a glass of pink lemonade. "What is this all for?"

I looked at the pink lemonade and a disgusting thought came into my mind. Dirty circus tight water. I handed it back to him. "If you're going to bring me lemonade please, original... and this is for your practical training. Trust me. The online courses were not the end." I put the hammer back in my tool belt. "Did you pass them all?"

"Yeah. And so did Mable." He took a sip of his lemonade. "How are the holsters and sling coming along?"

"Not as fast as I'd hoped they would. Soos has kept me pretty busy the last two days. It doesn't help that my time staying here is up. I have to go back to the motel tonight."

"Wait. Why do you have to do that?"

I set my hands on the back of my head as we walked over to the porch. "Ford only gave me a week here. I have to leave your couch sometime you know." We sat down together and I leaned on him. "Plus I have to collect room payments from some long term residents."

The door opened behind us. We turned to see Mr. Pines in a suit. "Don't mind me." He sat down on the couch behind us and opened a can of Pitt Cola.

"Break time, Mr. Pines?" I asked. I was trying to get along with him but he was an old man who didn't listen much to others.

"Yep. What are you two doing? Preparing for a huntin' trip?"

I hadn't noticed before that Mason had brought out the inter-dimensional guns and laid them on the porch beside where I was sitting. "You could say that." It's just not an animal we're hunting.

"Well, you two have fun." He chugged the rest of the can, burped loudly, got up, and went inside.

"That was...um... interesting?" I wasn't sure what that was.

"Yeah, I don't know either." Mason shrugged.

"Lillyin!" Soos voice came from inside the shack. "The toilet is clogged again!"

I sighed and stood up. "Duty calls." I smiled as Mason laughed at me. "Don't play with those, now," I said jokingly.

He laughed and mock saluted.

I laughed and went inside to find a plunger.

Time Skip

I put two blanks into the 22. I pointed it at the roof as I stood up from the couch. "You two ready to learn how to use a gun?"

"Yes! Let's go shoot some trees!" Mable was enthusiastic and excited to try it but Mason was more nervous than anything else.

He rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah let's... uh... let's get started."

I smiled. "Don't worry, Mason. You can use the .9mm. No kick. And Mable you can use the revolver." I handed them the guns. "Point them at anything but the ground and I'll take them away."

I walked out to the yard in the half dark. "Well, we don't have much time. We can't shoot after dark so let's get started. Mable, your gun." Mable passed me the revolver as I sat the 22 on the ground. I put in three blanks. "Alright. I'm going to demonstrate once, then I'll show you how to do it, then you'll shoot yourself. Ready?" she nodded. I raided the gun eye level pulled back the hammer, aimed, and pulled the trigger. BANG! The shot sounded through the air as the blank bullet embedded itself in the tree, leaving a hole in the target just off from the bull's eye. "Now I'll help you."
