It's a story of girl saves boy. Boy is nerd. Girl is flattered by his awkwardness. They go on date. Fall in love. Get married. Sounds like a classic right? No? Good. I didn't think so. Because nothing is ever that simple. Not in Gravity Falls and mo...

I woke up the next morning ready to go. They had fallen asleep before I had so I was lucky that Lucy was too exhausted to do anything at all. I woke up laying on the couch with the big red pillows under me. The sun wasn't up yet. I stood up and stretched. My body was finally rested so I didn't need any help. We'd be leaving today. I looked at the wall clock. It was only 3:30 a.m. but going back to sleep wasn't an option and with the twins going to sleep before me, I didn't doubt that the others would be up soon too.
Mason sat up in his bed and stretched. "Lillyin? Why are you up?"
"Because I've been asleep for ten hours and I can't sleep anymore." I rolled my eyes. "And I doubt you'll sleep much longer either. If Mable is up before the sun then we can leave with the sunrise." I sat on the foot of his bed. He hadn't bothered to take off his shirt or jeans. I think he was just being awkward.
"That reminds me. Why are we only leaving with the rising and setting sun? Wouldn't it be easier to leave at like, I don't know, maybe noon?"
"No. If we open a portal in broad daylight then it's more noticeable than during a time when the colors are already changing."
Mason nodded. "I suppose that makes sense... but what if we leave at one time but the time on the other side of the portal is different? Like we leave at six a.m. and suddenly it's six p.m."
I shrugged. "Then we confuse people and disappear into the nearest crowd." I shook my head. "I just hope we don't have that problem... now let's watch some TV. They've got to have something better than they do in Gravity Falls." We moved to the couch so we could see the TV and spent maybe an hour watching before Mable woke up.
"Yes! I am a master match maker!" Mable woke up and looked at me sitting in the crook of Mason's arm. Mable tended to be pretty mellow but she had her moments.
I laughed. "What?" I wasn't sure if Mable was just that weird or if she actually thought that she had brought me and Mason together. But then again, with how awkward we both were it might be true that she had a hand in it somehow.
"Nothing." Mable's face went slightly red in embarrassment. "Just a dream."
"Okay then. So... it's only 4:30 a.m. The sun won't be up for another half hour. Let's find somewhere to eat and get ready to go. We'll leave with the sunrise." I slipped my feet into my combat boots and stood up.
Mable slipped back into her sweater and shoes. She was actually the first out the door. I grabbed the room key off the desk and followed with Mason right behind me.
