When I woke up I didn't open my eyes right away. The smell of the room was the smell of sickness and non-scented cleaning supplies. I could feel that something wasn't quite right. I thought for a moment about what was happening. Then I remembered. Reverse Falls. The fight with Lucy. Losing my eye. Lucy being banished forever. I opened my eye. I looked around and saw my Mable and Mason as well as the second Mable and Dipper. All of them we're asleep. The small window above them showed that it was a deep, dark night.

Almost instantly a nurse came into the room. She stayed quiet so she wouldn't wake the others. "Hello, Ms. Crossfire. It's good to see you awake. You've been through a lot. Can you tell me what you remember?"

I didn't know how much of what cover story had been made up so I stayed vague. "I think I remember a loud bang and maybe a girl... I don't know. It's all fuzzy..."

"Alright." She quickly wrote something down and left.

The sound of the door woke Mason. "Lillyin?"

"Shhh." I set my finger to my lips. "Don't wake them, James. How long have I been out... and what did you tell the nurse?"

"Almost a week..." Mason's head dropped a bit, like a sad puppy's would. "We told her it was a car crash and that you were stuck in the car thanks to your seat belt while we were thrown clear. It seemed logical enough but now they've started a search for the car that doesn't exist. As soon as you're better we'll leave."

"Alright. I don't think I could go through the portal like this..." my body was spottily covered in gauze. There was a bit around my left thigh and both of my wrist. There was some covering a third of my face too. I could feel that there was some around my torso as well but I wasn't going to lift the thin cotton shirt to find out with Mason right beside me. "If we're ready to go whenever, then you have the guns and my bag hidden?"

"Yes. They're in the hole where I first found the journal." He grabbed my hand and lifted it so his face so that I was holding his face. "I'm so glad you're okay... I love you." A solitary tear fell from his eye.

I smiled. I used my thumb to wipe away the tear. "I love you too... I can say it now... I'll never have to hold back my feelings ever again."

He looked at me and smiled. It spread slowly, starting with the corners of his mouth and stretching up to his eyes until it was a giddy grin. The smile was far from fake. He released my hand and kissed me before sitting back in his seat directly beside my bed. He held my hand as he sat there and eventually light snoring come from him as well as the others.

I smiled as I stared off into the dark. I was happy to be with others. For the first time in a long time, I wasn't scared of myself. Eventually I too dozed off.

When I next awoke the sun was just rising, turning the sky outside the window to a beautiful reddish orange. I sat up slowly in the bed this time. It wasn't hard but I got the feeling that I could've hurt something more if I'd sat up any faster.

Soon a male doctor came into the room. "Ms. Crossfire."

I quickly tried to look at his name tag but he was moving around to much. "Yes Dr. ...?"

"Dr. Chance." He took the clip board from the foot of my bed. He didn't bother with being quiet like the nurse had. "Would you like to get some fresh air? You've been cooped up in this room an entire week."

"That would be nice... in reality I want to go home but I don't think my body is ready for that yet." I sighed and felt my sides pulling.

"No but I think you can manage a short walk around the courtyard." He extended a hand to help me out of bed.

I took it and set my bare feet on the cold floor. He grabbed a walker from the closet and offered it to me. I grabbed hold of the handles and stood up. Lucky me they had put me in white and blue scrubs rather than one of those awful hospital gowns. I could feel my bones creaking. The doctor stayed right beside me the entire time as we went through the halls and out in to the court yard. Once in the courtyard we found a bench to sit on and watched the dew evaporate off the flowers with the sun light.

"The real reason I brought you out here was so we could talk without waking your friends." We had sat for maybe half an hour before Dr. Chance spoke up. "I have to tell you some new heath things you're probably unaware of as of right now."

"Well I can tell I no longer have a right eye so you can skip that one." I laughed. I tried to keep it light hearted. The last thing I wanted was someone to make me sad when I was finally happy for the first time in a long time.

He laughed too. "Yes, I suppose that one is quite obvious. I mean a few other things." He shifted on the concrete bench. "You've under gone two surgeries in the last week. Since James was the only one we could associate with you since you've no immediate family he authorized them for you. You lost a lot of blood in the crash, mostly from your eye socket and mouth but also internal bleeding. You can thank Ms. Castle for the blood donations. I'll give you a file of the things that have happened when you're discharged."

I nodded. Mable really did that for me, huh?

"As an adult we can discharge you early if you wish." Dr. Chance looked at me. "It's really up to you when you go home..."

I smiled. "Thank you Dr. Chance, but I don't think I'm ready to go home just yet. I wouldn't want to tear the stiches."

"That is up to you."

**Time Skip**

Almost a week had passed again before the stitches had finally absorbed into my skin enough to not cause me pain when I moved. I was ready to go home. Believe it or not, I was beginning to miss my family, even my annoying sisters and disapproving mother. I got myself discharged that day and went back to the place where Mason and I had both found the journal at some point in our lives with my Mable and Mason. We collected our guns and prepared ourselves to leave.

"I won't miss this place," said my Mable.

"None of us will." I took my riding gloves out of my bag and put them on. It'd been a while since I'd worn them. I began to realize how much I actually missed my motorcycle.

Mason smiled at us. "We'll never have to do this again."

I stood up shoving the medical record paper into my bag. I still hadn't had a chance to thank Mable for giving me some of her blood. I honestly didn't think we were the same blood type until the doctor told me. I smiled and walked up beside Mable. I wrapped my arms around her and squeezed her tight. "Thank you Mable." I let her go.

She blushed lightly and smiled. She shoved her gun into the holster and turned away from me.

I giggled as I slung my 22 over my back. I tossed Mason the dimensional bullet. "You're up." I pointed out the spot to shoot and grabbed Mable's right hand and Mason's left.

Mason raised his right arm and shot into the weak spot. He shoved his gun back in the holster. "Ready to go home?"

"I think we all are." I giggled and too half a step forward.

Together we all stepped through the portal once more.
