Mason's P.O.V
I trudged over to the cafeteria, picking up a dry blueberry muffin after preparing a dark coffee with two sugars. I ran my hand over my face in an attempt to wake myself up. I debated on getting something for Sarah before choosing an everything bagel, just in case.
Taking a large swig of the dark coffee, I grimaced at the extremely bitter taste. It tasted so different without creme, but I felt instantly energized. I started making my way back to the room when I heard her name echo through the narrow hallway. "Sarah. Sarah Wilson?" The surname is what caught my attention most of all.
Sarah Wilson, it sounded right, like it was meant to be. But whoever it was had the wrong facts, because the matter of the fact was that we technically weren't completely married.
I walked over to the young woman with defiant blue glasses that stood out from her pale face and long blonde locks. Her eyes widened behind the glasses, "You're Mason, Mason Wilson."
I stood straighter and smirked, "Yes, I am indeed."
She smiled, "I just wanted to get a picture of your wife." She murmured half excitedly, and half nervously. She clenched onto the black camera dangling around her neck.
"I'm afraid that's not possible, she's resting, but I can let you in on an insider's scoop." I semi-whispered leaning in slightly. Her eyes were still just as wide with curiosity as she leaned in closer, I announced,"She's not pregnant and we're not even married."
Her jaw dropped, "no way! But that's what literally, everyone is saying!"
I chuckled, "well everyone's wrong. There's the doctor," I pointed to the same female doctor that was just talking to Sarah. "You can ask her, she'll tell you that Sarah's not pregnant. And because I like you, I'll give you a tip," I paused as I watched her listen carefully, holding onto each word. "You could call and find out at City Hall who got the two of us married, and she'll tell you that we technically aren't even married."
She nodded, jotting down notes, while her head bobbed more than necessary. "But why did you two want to get married early anyway?"
I sighed, "now isn't that the real question? Sorry, that's confidential."
She smiled, "okay, thanks for everything!" And without another word, she turned and followed the doctor. I started making my way back towards Sarah's room before someone yanked my arm from behind.
I felt my anger form as my coffee almost dropped on my suit. The man didn't look like he cared. I stared at him disbelief. How rude? Does he not know who I am? "You're Mason Wilson," he blurted. Well, I guess he did, which made it stranger. He was examining my appearance carefully from my shoes to my hair. He pulled out a small notebook. "Why did you and Ms. Rai decide to marry so abruptly?"
What does this man think of himself as? The queen's boyfriend? "I don't answer to you." I sidestepped him before taking a sip of coffee and deciding that it tasted too horrible to handle. Or maybe it was the impolite man's aura.
I nearly made it to the trash can before, "Did you two decide to have the child? Or are you considering abortion for the sake of your business and your family's name?"
I clenched my jaw, before turning around and throwing the coffee directly on the man's face. Sometime's there was a limit to these questions. "How the hell do these people make it into the hospital? Shouldn't there be security or something?" I yelled before a group of cameras started flashing and security officers rushed to my side. "Leave us alone," I shouted, to the drenched man.
"Sir calm yourself," one of the security officers commented and I slowly inhaled and exhaled a couple of times.
"Some people are just so inconsiderate," I muttered.
