We stayed like that for a while, close to each other. But another emotional cute moment was interrupted by my stomach growling, I blushed, "oops." Mason's laugh roared through the small living room space as his eyes squinted into slits.
"Should I have been surprised?" He continued chuckling before pulling me up off the seat and tugging me towards the kitchen. If I could call it that. Now that I was taking a good look at it, I guess I should have been calling it the snacking station. There were cupboards and a sink. But no stove to cook on, which I guess made sense in a tree house. He lifted me up unexpectedly and placed me on the 'kitchen' counter with ease, a squeal left my lips. "We don't really have much here, if I'm honest," Mason muttered under his breath while scanning through the cupboards. "Hmmm," he was on a mission, he had his serious face on as he scanned each shelf.
I laughed, "it's fine. I've been so busy with all this wedding stuff, I haven't really had time to eat properly. Blake should be leaving Sana's place soon, I'll tell him to grab something on the way." I told him, as if Blake would actually do that. He'd most likely make fun of me first.
'Here you go, calling me AGAIN, but this time when I'm with a girl. Your hunger is more important I know, Mrs. Wilson'Mason didn't say anything, so I took a hold of his phone on the counter and was shocked to see his lock screen. My heart melted as I noticed that it was a picture of me with the kids at the orphanage. In the picture I was laughing at something with my cheeks flushed and my mouth open.
"Aha! I've got it. I mean it's not a gourmet meal, but it'll do." He grinned pulling out two cup noodles from a pantry on the side.
I smiled, "that's perfect," He got to work with filling an electric kettle with water before pulling himself up on the counter next to me, looking at his phone.
"Oh, isn't that a nice picture," he grinned, pointing to his phone in my hand.
I nodded, looking up at his beautiful eyes, "yeah, I didn't know you'd taken it."
He shrugged, "I took a couple. I'm glad I did, I was living off of them when you hated me."
"Hey, I was just angry." I pouted.
"I know I know, but I thought you hated me." He swiftly took a hold of the phone and put his code in, I looked away. Didn't want to invade his privacy. "Here," he said, before showing me his screen. "Put your finger print in."
"Oh I don't need to-"
"Just put it in," He rolled his eyes, placing his phone in my hand. I did as I was told, "and just in case it doesn't work, the number is 1102."
"Oye, that's the passcode for my phone!"
He rubbed the back of his neck, "oh, well it's your-"
"birthday," we synchronized.
"You put your passcode as my birthday? That's so extra." I laughed, making fun of him while messing his hair. He frowned. "It's cute. It's extra, but cute," I added slowly before leaning in for a little peck on his lips.
The kettle caught our attention, and Mason leapt off the counter and filled the noodle cups with hot water and stood staring at it. "Honey, staring at it won't help the noodle cook any faster.""It says two minutes, so I'm counting. I'm at 28 Mississipis. Probably 30 now."
I laughed, "I love you," it was so easy to say it now. I hadn't said it once before, and now it was pouring out of me so effortlessly.
He turned to look at me, his gaze softened, "I love you more." He paused, "and 40 Mississipi"
I facepalmed, "You're such a child. I'm marrying a man-child." Marrying. "Wait, Mason, can we get married?" I added, my voice instantly softer.
