Chapter 7

As soon as I arrived from my date last night, Vanessa bombarded me with questions. One after another, "How does he look like? Is he handsome? Does he seem nice? What did you guys do? Do you like him?" It was excruciating, I didn't know whether or not to tell the truth. So I told her I was tired and wanted to sleep, "...I'll tell you tomorrow." She seemed suspicious with my answer, but didn't bother me any longer.

So, I woke up before her and decided to go for a jog, to think things though. Throwing on my gym shorts, sports bra and tank top, I grabbed my phone and changed into my running shoes. I texted my mom and sister on their cells, letting them know where I was.

As soon as I exited the house, I plugged in my earphones and jogged along the pavement, thinking about how I should answer Vanessa's questions. Should I tell her that Mason was my ex boss? Or should I lie? Should I tell her exactly what happened yesterday, or should I make it sound like a regular date? I groaned in frustration. Lying would make her feel better; however it wouldn't be right. I sighed in loss, turning up the volume to the song on my phone to drown out my thoughts.

Just as I turned at a curb, I spotted a familiar limo driving along the road not too far ahead from where I was.

It can't be!

I immediately turned around and continued to jog, maybe he wasn't here for me. I'll just continue jogging, he couldn't know it's me. My heartbeat rose quickly, and it wasn't because of the excersize. Then, the limo stopped beside me, I gulped, frightened. Should I make a run for it? It would be stupid, I couldn't out run a vehicle, but I could try... just as I was debating, a voice broke into my reverie. "Miss. Excuse me, Miss?" I heard the same driver's voice from yesterday. I ignored his calling, pretending to not hear him with my earphones in. I continued with my regular pace, not wanting to cause suspision by breaking into a run. Then a hand on my shoulder, startled me. "Miss, I want to know where-" He was saying while turning to see me. My eyes widened in shock. "It's you!" He bellowed, as if winning a jackpot.

Uh oh.

I was about to turn around and run for my life, when the same large hand from yesterday held onto my wrist. Pulling me into his hard chest. I looked up slowly to meet two dark, scornful eyes. I wanted to hide in a shell; I'd never wanted to be a turtle until now.

Mason's hand clasped my wrist firmly. "You're hurting me." I whispered, almost inaudibly. "I don't care." He said, with clenched teeth. "You're coming with me." He added, before pulling on my wrist and leading me towards his limo, which was now parked. The driver must have parked the limo before, then ran up to ask me after I ignored him.

Mason then shoved me into the limo. I grunted in response. I moved as far away as I could from Mason, I could feel my hormones awakening just by standing beside him a minute ago. We were at opposite sides of the limo, when the limo started moving. I rubbed my wrist, messaging it lightly. "What do you want?" I asked him in distaste. "You played me." He answered, his eyes burning in rage, before adding, "No one plays me." I rolled my eyes at him, "So? You are a disgusting jerk. You deserve worse than that. That's nothing. I don't know what you're complaining about." I took a pause, "Now, are you going to tell what I'm doing here and what you want from me." He grumbled, "You'll see."

I rolled my eyes, is that supposed to scare me?

Folding my arms over my chest, I looked out the window, watching the trees and cars pass. "Do you always travel in a limo?" He narrowed his eyes at me, "Yes." Of course, he craves attention wherever he goes.

I waited patiently for the limo to stop, but it didn't. I peered over at my phone, it's been twenty minutes since Mason practically abducted me. Everyone must be getting worried. I started to type a text message on my cell to my mother and sister but then stopped abruptely, "How long are you taking me for? My family will be worried." My tone came out demanding, and angry. "Tell them you won't be back until tomorrow." My jaw dropped, and my eyes widened to the size of saucers, "What!" He smirked wickedly, "Yep." I moved a bit closer to him, "You can't do that!" He chuckled, "Of course I can." "Actually, you can't!" I protested. He had his annoying smirk on his face again, "Well even if I technically can't, no one will know. There's only you, Steve, and I here." My face paled, before I remembered my phone. I went back to my seat as quickly as I could. Taking my cell, I dialed Vanessa's number quickly, putting my phone to my ear listening to the dialtone.
