"And I'm on my way,
I still remember these old country lanes
When we did not know the answers
And I miss the way
You make me feel,
It's real." - Ed Sheeranhello! I updated twice in two days.
Dedicated to ptxplums for the amazing trailer above, please go check it out! I assure you, you don't want to miss it.
Sunday
"He wants you to apologize? Are you freaking serious?" Delilah scoffed at our current conversation. It was now 2:00AM on Sunday morning and I'd just finished telling her about the party and all the craziness that took place at the Margott's. Kris. A moment of nostalgia and regret flashed over me at the thought of him even though there was nothing I regretted and nothing besides Kris that I wanted to forget, oh so much.
I shrugged and popped another popcorn into my mouth as the movie we both forgot was playing, played on.
I squinted my eyes, by doing so; my headache seemed to soften before taking back its lost rage.
"I don't know if I like Jaiden anymore. That's just annoying. I'm kinda for you and Kris." She sighed and rested her head on my left shoulder.
I shrugged again. I didn't like Jaiden anymore either but besides all that, I was having fun with him. As bad as that sounds, he was distracting me from Kris who seemed to distract me from everything else in life. They were like my personal pills, but sometimes, my addiction took over and I took them when I really didn't need to.
"I'm so tired." Delilah mumbled besides me. I felt her go limp for a second before regaining herself with a sharp intake of oxygen and laid down properly on her bed.
I, too, laid down and as my eyelids shut, my horizontal vision of the movie, blurred. I thought about the long day and it felt as if multiple days had passed. I nestled deeper into the mattress and clouded the blanket closer to me as my strained eyes temporarily gave up on their job.
It felt like the quiet before a storm.

Hushed voices dragged in and out of my dazed senses. What sounded like a traditional telephone, the kind you see in black and white thriller movies got louder until it rang with all its might, bringing me out of my reverie.
The first thing my vision focused on was a half-stupefied Ace. His wide brown eyes studied me until he realized I was awake and watching him, he slumped back on the floor. He was sitting on the floor, next to the bed.
"Ace!" I heard Delilah call out. "I told you to not wake her!" She complained and his face quickly changed to horrified. How dramatic.
"I didn't!" He justified. "She's awake." He mumbled and got up.
I turned over to lay on my back.
"Oh." Delilah let out a breath.
"What time is it?" I asked with my hoarse voice, some of it seemed to still remain in my Leonardo DiCaprio dream.
She checked her phone that rested on her dresser besides the bedroom door in which she was standing in, across from the bed. "2:39"
The afternoon light shone brightly, covering everything under my nose in a warm radiance.
The time would've fazed me if it were any other day but I didn't care because I'd just woken up from the best sleep accompanied by the best dream in all the history of dreams I've dreamt.
