Chapter 36 One Step Closer

Soldier Fires POV

"Well... at least we defeated them." I said taking deep breaths. "I bet there's a lot more hiding somewhere." Soldier Electricity said. I leaned against a palm tree and sighed loudly. "Come on we have to go." Soldier Electricity told me and I nodded.

I heard some sort of strange noise and I turned around. "What's wrong? We have to hurry!" He said obviously rushed. "Hang on, there might be someone here who can help us." I said running in the direction of the sound.

"Alright fine, but this better not take long." Soldier Electricity said chasing after me. "I promise it won't." I said and ran as fast as I could.

I just hope I can get to where the young prince is at quickly. I just hope everyone is alright.

Paul's POV

"Get away..." I said as tears streamed down my face. I crawled away from the ugly thing and I backed up against the wall. My hand touched Annie's tiny corpse and I immediately jerked my hand away.

"This has to be a dream... It can't be real." I repeated to myself as the monsters shadow loomed over me. "Please... I need help." I said clutching my head.

"Don't come any closer." I said backing up further against the broken wall. The monster kept approaching and I dared myself to look over at Annie's dead body.

She was so innocent, and all because of a Heart Crystal. I noticed something that I haven't noticed before. Her eyes were watery.

She was crying right before she had died. That made me feel so guilty. "I won't..." I whispered.

"I won't forgive you for this!!" "By the power of the stars above, I will eradicate you."  I screamed and my bow appeared in my hand. The background changed to a starry sky and an aurora appeared above me.

"Aurora..." I began as I waved my arm and made the aurora merge into a colorful arrow. I grabbed it and notched it onto my bow. "Arrow!!!" I screamed as I shot it straight to his head.

The monster was to slow to avoid the incoming attack, and it instantly killed him.

My bow turned to sparkles and vanished. I fell onto my knees and tried to wipe the quickly falling tears. "Honey..." I heard an angelic voice say.

My eyes widened and I looked up slowly. "Who are you?" I asked my voice shaking. "Sweetie, I'm your mother." The woman smiled kindly.

"Mom? So does that mean your... the goddess?" I asked. She nodded. "It seems this little girl is very important to you guys." She said looking over at Annie.

I stayed silent and she turned back to look at me seriously. "She deserves a second chance, after all, this happened because of the Heart Crystals." She said and raised up her silver staff. A green light flowed into Annie and she sparkled.

"There. My job is done, I know you can do it Soldier Magic." My mom said and disappeared.

I heard a loud gasp for breath and I spun around. Annie rubbed her eyes and she stood up confused. "What happened?" She asked completely oblivious.

I smiled without knowing and ran over to her. I hugged her and started to cry one more time. "Thank goodness your back!" I said and she patted my head softly.

"What's wrong sir prince?" She asked me confused. I wiped my tears and backed up. I shook my head. "It's nothing."

"We should probably go back and explain everything to the people who helped us." I said and smiled warmly,
