Chapter 37 Old Transfer Student and Love Conquers All
Paul's POV
"Do we have to go to school?" I asked grumpily into the phone. "Well of course! That's the most dumbest question I've heard come out from your mouth." Emily said.
"Be quiet." I mumbled. "Then again, everything you say is dumb." She said. I glared at the phone.
"Emily... I don't wanna go, I have so many things going on in my life." I said sadly. "I know, but if you want to become successful in life, you have to study." She told me.
"Your right, but what'll I do about..." I couldn't even finish the sentence. "Don't worry, I'm sure your boyfriend will be fine." She said soothingly.
"Okay." I said my eyes getting slightly watery. "Okay, I'll let you know when the bus comes alright?" Emily said.
"Sure thing." I smiled and hung up. I yawned and crawled out of bed. I made my way to the shower, which I needed real bad. I turned on the faucet and adjusted the water temperature.
Once it was nice and warm, I removed my clothing and hopped in. 'I hope nothing bad happens to him...' I thought and leaned against the wall. I slid down and hugged my knees close to my chest.
About half an hour later, I got out and dried myself with a towel. I changed quickly and brushed my teeth. I slowly went downstairs and made some cereal.
I grabbed a pen and wrote a small note. It read, "Dear Mom, sorry I didn't greet you earlier, but I'll see you after school!" I placed it on the table and went to grab my bag.
The phone rang and I answered. "The bus is coming." Emily's voice rang and the line went dead. Once I heard that, I placed the phone down and left to my bus stop.
I waited for five minutes and then the bus came into view. It stopped in front of me and I climbed inside. I saw my first chosen protector waving a hand over to me.
I walked over to her and plopped down next to her. "So, how are you doing?" Emily asked.
"A bit better." I responded and hugged my bag and closed my eyes. "Take a nap, I'll wake you up when we get to school." She said. I smiled and nodded.
I'm glad I have such a good friend.
***********************************
"We're here sleepy head." Emily said and my eyes opened. I glanced around lazily and yawned. I stood up and got off the bus.
"Hey Paul!" I heard Alejandra and Esteban call out. I turned around and saw them waving. Emily got off the bus too and looked over at them.
"Wait, where's Leslie?" I asked suddenly realizing she wasn't here. "She caught a cold, so she's resting at home right now." Emily answered.
I nodded and we walked over to my other chosen protectors. "How are you feeling?" Esteban asked.
"Fine.' I mumbled sadly. "Hey look, I brought you some chocolate." Alejandra said. My head sprung up and sparkles appeared around me.
"Did you say chocolate?" I heard the word of the year. "Yes, now eat up." She said hanging me a small bar.
I took it gratefully and ate it without hesitation. "Thanks Ale." I smiled.
"There's going to be a transfer student." Esteban spoke up. "Really?" I asked amazed.
"I heard it's a girl." Alejandra said. "Well we'll find out soon enough." Emily said. Then the bell rang loudly.
