The bar was still in full livelihood well passed twelve o'clock in the morning. The customers were singing olden hymns with one another while most spoke to each other like the old friends they probably were. I could feel myself getting tired by the minute as I stood here behind the counter smiling weekly while cleaning and serving people their drinks.
Aerolena decided to stay behind the counter to help serve drinks while supervising me after the strange events with the angel, Naomi. As of far nothing out of the ordinary has occurred, yet still Aerolena would not leave my side.
I lazily wiped the counter of any stains left by the people sitting at the bar who were cheerfully, and some drunkenly, laughing to one another. The atmosphere was still a joyous one, but my exhausted state blocked out any excitement that were to be felt by it.
I heard the tapping of Aerolena shoes coming towards me but my mind did not registered until she gently patted me on the back.
"Ame if you're tired go to bed, I'm not making you stay here all night."
Not feeling in the mood to talk, I politely nodded my head and gave a lazy smile while I placed the rag I was using in the sink behind the counter.
Aerolena motioned for me to followed her towards the door I had came from once before. I quickly paced myself, leaving the bar counter and walk a few foot steps behind Aerolena.
Aerolena placed her hand on the doorknob and paused. Unfortunately there was no blank picture hanging beside the door so I could not tell if she was using the door teleportation method or thinking of something to say. I just waited until she made her next move.
Finally after a few heartbeats, Aerolena opened the door wide enough to reveal to me, my room as I left it. The floating lanterns were still brightly illuminating the room, allowing me to see where it was I would be walking for the time being. Without being asked I lazily shuffled my feet into the room in a hurry to get within the covers.
"Ame, if I were anyone else I would think your were drunk out of your mind."
I stopped my advancements and turned me head to Aerolena, which resulted in her smiling at me.
"But I understand the exhaustion of your day."
She held her hand out and began to count the events of my day with her fingers.
She place one finger up, "Waking up from a coma with weird markings all over your body only to learn that a demon king, who is after you, is the cause of said markings."
She place a second finger up, "Then learning that you may posses powers from these tattoos, causing you to have to leave your friend to train under a witch whom of which you not only just met but never knew they existed."
She held up a third finger, "After that you had to spend your first day in a tavern helping said witch serve different creature you also never knew existed."
Finally she placed a fourth finger up, "Oh and let us not forget the angel in training who was trying to do who knows what to you on the first day in the bar."
Aerolena dropped her hand and folded her arms as she mockingly tsked me for all of my dilemmas.
"It's a lot to take in so I just want to say..."
She looked into my eye giving me a hard determined stare, much like the one Rion gave me before I left the pack house.
"Thank you."
I stared at her and processed what she said. Did I hear that right, Aerolena, Yin of all people, thanked little 'ol me? Why? I could only guess what for not breaking down to all the stress.
