The wind combed through the meadow and swayed the tallish grass before me while the sun peaked through the clouds casting shadows in some places and warmth in others. The nature was at its peak for liveliness and the animals displayed their happiness with the weather. The birds sung in the cloud speckled skies, while the ground animals scurried about excitedly scampering into the shade.
The immense pleasure I felt finally able to once again be out doors brought a smile to my face.
The windows within the tavern were unable to mock me as they displayed the outside world on the other side and illuminated the wooden interior with the light of the sun. I suppose I could have went through the window to get out here, but what type of accomplishment would that had been in my task. Besides, I am certain Aerolena made it that I would not had been able to, even if I had tried.
The task of opening a door was harder than it sound yet something as simple as that was a big deal to me at the moment.
I was able to do it with magick.
I looked down to my hands and stop to think of the type of power I had and what I could do with it. Power once I had not known existed until yesterday and with this power I was once step closer in eating my food.
I never felt the urge to shout and cheer for an accomplishment so simple, in my life. But alas I held in my excitement until I found Aerolena.
I once again concentrated on the bristling of the outdoor world, to look for Aerolena within the tall grass. Yet she was no where to be seen.
Upon my search I hear steady creaking of the rocking chair swaying in the winds' breeze. I brought my attention to it and saw another piece of paper folded neatly upon it, willing me to open it to read its contents. No name was needed to be sprawled on it this time to understand it was intended for me to read.
Mentally I groaned and walked to the rocking chair, dreading for what it is Aerolena wants me to do next.
The note was placed in the center of the chair to where undoubtedly I would be able to see it. I picked up the small piece of paper and held it in my hand, preying to whatever god was out there it was something easier than opening the tavern door.
Maybe it's nothing major.
I unfolded the tiny slip of paper and began to read it:
Ame,
Congratulation, you were finally able to open a door and walk outside. How simple was that?
Aerolena really has a way with sarcasm.
This letter is not to poke fun at the task, but instead remind you of what you felt. No doubt you felt the power flowing through you yet, you don't understand it, hell even I don't understand it. But you were able to feel the energy and understand where it resonated from, you had to in order to use the door teleportation.
I taught you this spell first because in order to use it successfully you must remember where the power originated from. Do not loose this feeling Ame. Like a door, it can open to new worlds, but if you don't have a key, these new worlds are locked to you, never allowing you to understand what is beyond your understanding.
I am proud you were able to learn this spell without my assistance and proud to call you my student. Keep up the good work Ame, and these months will be easy for you.
Now as for your next task, it is something even a toddler can do. Walk towards the back of the tavern and follow the path leading to the waterfall. There you will see us on a blanket waiting for you to join us for lunch.
