The atmosphere of the room was electrifying resulting from the magickal battle before me and Richard. I did not know what to do to help the situation, Aerolena was demonstrating forces which I once again thought did not exist. It was a battle of magick, between light power and dark power, no amount of combat could help us now.

Aerolena was giving all she could to complete the enchantment on the dagger and the dagger seemingly fought back with its own magick. I could not see her face but telling by the slight tension in her back and shoulders, she was struggling to win this battle. Richard and I remain seated, not sure on how to help or what to do or whether any action we made would make the situation better or worsen it.

I no longer had thoughts of taking her power but I knew if I dwell on the possibility those thoughts would resurface. Even sitting in this seat so close to the dark energy I did not have any urge to do so. I believe it was from the light energy equally emanated from Aerolena and the help of the that 'something' causing me to dismiss those thoughts. But one problem at a time.

Aerolena's white light glowed from her hand, hovering above the dagger while the dagger's dark midnight light did the same around itself. Both lights met in the middle cancelling each other out with a gray dull light neutralizing the other's energy.

"Never in all my years have I encounter dark magick as powerful as this one."

This came from the strain voice of Aerolena.

Aerolena cautiously lifted her hands off of the dagger and separated the colliding forces. Slowly the light from both sources dulled until there was nothing left but the heavy breathing from Aerolena and a still dagger.

Richard took this time to stand and walk around the desk. He then gently took Aerolena by the arm and lead her to a chair where she sat down.

"I though I could weaken the power enough to conceal its dark emanating energy but in turn, it used my tactics against me. Just give me a moment to rest."

Richard nodded his head then let go of her.

Aerolena carefully reached for her book which was still opened on the desk and closed it in her lap. She then placed her elbows on her book and head in her hands.

After a moment of her just sitting there like that, Aerolena lifter her head and looked to Richard.

"I have a solution that should work."

Richard gave her a hard stare.

As if knowing what he was thinking Aerolena feebly waved her hand in the air as if dismissing the thought he had.

"This motive will not cause us to foolishly drain our magick again in fact it will not require much at all."

Us? Our?

Richard sighed and gave her soft eyes,

"Then what do you suppose."

Her head snapped at me then she pointed to my face. Her eyes were much darker than I remember them but still held that determine gleam

"You."

Stupidly and with a confused expression I pointed to my own face.

"Me?"

Aerolena rolled her dark green eyes then looked to me once more.

"Yes, Ame you. You, are now to train under my watch until you are able to overcome the dagger's powers."

I widen my eyes, "Why me?"

Aerolena gave me the 'are you serious face' then threw her hands in the air.
