The party had ended when the sun had finally set past the horizon and everyone left for the night. There were a feast, gifts given, and speeches in honor of Tarrah, Rion, I and even Raiu.

The wolf warriors teased Rion of his departure, however, congratulated him on the journey. Ottus was slightly on edge he would not be near his mate or be able to protect him in any time of need, however, allowed Rion to go. Ottus could not go due to his role of having to stay near his alpha as his beta and train the warriors. Ottus and Rion decided competition should be held to pick a substitute for a temporary second and all are allowed to attempt except Jim.

Speaking of Jim, he had shown up clean of all blood from the deer he had butchered and brought to Kain before the gathering. He did not say one word and growled at anyone who came near him.

Raiu, on the other hand, decided to make fun of him and follow Jim around just to torment the poor giant. At first, Jim snapped at him and almost yelled but stopped when he saw Raiu's face. I have a feeling Raiu allowed him to see that darkness swimming in the depth of his eyes because for the remainder of the party Raiu bothered Jim and he just ignored him.

Even I think Raiu was being childish for doing that, but Jim did attempt to kill us so, I suppose it's fair.

When Ottus mentioned the second's spot needing a substitute, Jim's whole diameter changed and forgotten about an annoying Raiu behind him. He was practically ready to fight right then and there for the position. However after Ottus declared he was not allowed to compete due to attempt to harm me, he stormed off and out the pack house door. Raiu laughed even as he left and Rion joined in.

I can tell now those two together will cause trouble.

Tarrah had friends of her own who showed giving gifts and congratulating her on a job well done. Granny even came to support Tarrah giving her a small red pouch containing a money for the trip.

If only my teacher was that nice, she runs a tavern and still wouldn't give me a coin. Instead, I was given a pat on the back and told not to die.

Well, I did get this cool cloak so I guess we're even.

After the celebration was over and Richard declared everyone goes home for the evening, Tarrah and Rion said goodbye and headed to there own homes. They told me they would be back first thing tomorrow morning and to be ready to leave.

When all was said and done we went our separate ways to get some much-needed rest. Richard and Jason lead Raiu and I to our room for the night, it was the same one I had woken up in when I first arrived at the Pack House. After Richard said his good nights as they both left to there own bedroom leaving us alone.

So here I am taking sleeping wear out of the travel bag I brought with a floating lantern being my only source of light while Raiu was laying on the bed. The entity has not said one word since leaving the party but we both know what must be discussed.

Grabbing a shirt and some shorts I placed them on the bed next to me and looked to Raiu. He was sprawled out on the bed, looking towards the ceiling with a blank expression plastered on his face.

I sighed and shook my head.

"You know the longer you're out and about the longer, you'll sleep when you return."

Raiu turned his head giving me the same blank expression.

"I know, but we have a lot to talk about."

I took the cloak off and place it on a nearby chair stationed next to the bed.

"Well, we can first talk about the shadow."
