I hate parties.

They make me want to vomit. Parties are just a bunch of drunk and sweaty people hitting on other drunk and sweaty people.

I'm claustrophobic so I get easily nervous when I'm in a big crowd. Especially in closed off spaces.

"So, what do you think?" Luke asked.

He wanted me to go to a party tonight at some football player's house. That's why I've been thinking a lot about parties. At least in the past few minutes.

"I don't know, Luke. I'm not very fond of parties. I don't have great memories from parties back home."

One time at a party, a guy poured his drink all over me and everyone laughed. Oh, and another time, someone taped a tampon to my ass. Not cool.

"Well, we can change that. You have me now." he smiled.

"I know, but they still make me nervous as hell."

"Look, Hazel. I'm gonna be with you the whole time."

I grunted. "Okay. But I'm doing this for you. So you owe me."

"I have a feeling I'm gonna owe you my whole life, Hazel Winters."

We're at my house sitting on the edge of my bed. We can't make out or anything because my mom is in tbe next room and it would be just plain awkward.

I got up and walked to my closet. Ugh, I have nothing to wear.

"I have nothing to wear, Luke."

"Hazel Winters, don't think that I don't see that black dress in the corner that probably fits you perfectly."

I turned around and pulled the dress out of my closet. It was a pretty simple cocktail dress that I wore to my first homecoming dance.

"Well, it'll have to do." I said.

I turned around and motioned for Luke to turn his back to me so he doesn't see anything. With a bit of whining and a bit of convincing, I finally got him to turn around.

And he was right, the dress fit me perfectly.

"Wow." I heard him say.

"Did I tell you to turn around?"

"No, but I had an urge to do it."

"You mean you had an urge to see me naked?" I smirked.

"Maybe. Maybe not. You will never know."

We both laughed. I loved it when we were like this. Like a proper couple. No talk about depression, no talk about dead parents. Just us.

Since the party was in 2 hours, Luke just stayed in my house until we had to go.

"Mom!" I yelled.

She opened my bedroom door. "What?"

"Luke and I are going to a party now. I just wanted to inform you."

"You sure it's safe?"

I sighed. "Mom, don't you want me to 'socialize'?"

"Oh, well. Have fun, you two."

I looked at Luke. He took my hand in his and we left the house.

As soon as we got to the party I already saw people making out on the grass in front of the house. Gross. I looked at Luke and he shrugged.

We entered the house and something, or should I say someone, caught my eye immediately. Grace. Making out with someone.

"Grace!" I called out for her.

She looked around to find who was calling. I almost fell to the floor when I saw who she was making out with. Calum. I would've started screaming and fanning my arms around if Luke wasn't holding. And I would've probably embarrassed myself.

As soon as she saw me, she freaked out and ran towards me.

"Oh my God, Hazel!" she practically tackled me.

"Hi." I smiled.

"Look at you two! Did you use protection?"

I laughed. "So you and Calum?"

"Are perfect together, I know."

"Well, I'll let you get back to sucking face with him."

"Ew, Winty. Well, see you two later."

I turned to face Luke. "I need to go to the bathroom, boyfriend."

"Okay, girlfriend. Don't get lost."

I turned around and started looking for the bathroom. It felt like hours until I finally found it. It's a really big house.

When I was finished with my business, I grabbed two cups with beer and started looking for Luke.

I had to rub my eyes to be sure what I'm seeing it's true.

Luke was kissing another girl.

I dropped everything I was holding.

How could he do this to me? He knows I'm fragile. He knows my heart breaks easily. And right now, it's shattered in one million pieces.

I did what my head told me to. I grabbed the drink of the first person I saw, ran up to them and spilled the drink all over the girl. She got up and went to slap me but I beat her to it.

And Luke? Luke was completely dumbfounded. Asshole.

Tears reached my eyes and I started running as fast as I could. I just wanted to get out of there. I felt like I was going to choke to death.

I left the house and it started raining. Oh, great. I didn't stop running though.

Why did he do it? Am I not good enough? Of course I'm not, I'm pathetic. Nobody could love me.

Luke was running after me and I heard him yelling things like 'she kissed me' and 'I didn't do it' but I just continued running. Until I heard the words that will change everything.

"I am in love with you, Hazel Winters!"
