30: New Friends

Loreen's P.O.V. 

Walking the halls of school the next day, I feel everyone's eyes on me. Ethan was called to the office right as soon as we walked into the school so I make my way to my locker. 

I open my locker and put my jacket in there. I look down at myself and see my black ripped shorts and my green Paris shirt with my black vans. I check my makeup in the small mirror of my locker and see that I am fine. 

"Hey, Loreen." I turn around to see a group of Emily's friends. 

"I don't want any trouble with you guys. Just walk away and leave me alone," I say to them. 

The 'leader' of the group, which happens to be Kinzie, talks for everyone. "We don't want any trouble either. I was actually wondering if you would hang out with us after school today."

"Uh--no thanks. I don't feel like being around Emily," I say.

"She won't be there. She isn't even in town anymore. Her parents sent her to a private school in a different state after you beat the shit out of her yesterday. I got to say: I am impressed. That is why I want you to chill with us. Maybe ever take Emily's spot," Kinzie says. 

"Just leave her alone," Ethan says walking up. "No drama. Just go away."

"We aren't doing anything! Why does everyone assume that we are harassing Loreen!" Kinzie says. Ethan looks at me for confirmation. 

"They were just seeing if they could hang out tonight sometime," I tell him.

He answers for me. "If you guys want to hang out with her then you are going to have to come over to our place then." They nod and walk off. 

"Thanks for permission, dad," I say.

"It is daddy to you," he says slapping my ass. I gasp and close my locker. I head to class.

The bell rings ending the school day and I head to my locker. I grab my jacket and go to Ethan's car. Ethan is already there and has the car started. He starts to back up.

"Where's Gray?" I ask. 

"He is going over to someone's house," he says, not looking at me. He doesn't look at me that much anymore. He avoids my gaze most of the time. I am worried. He seems to be having bad dreams, but I don't know what about. He wakes up in the middle of the night, sweating and breathing heavy. I ask but her doesn't tell me. 

I put my hand on his thigh. He looks over at me but avoids my gaze still. His eyes go back to the road and I move my hand higher and higher until my hand is on the fabric covering his dick. He breathes in sharply. I take my hand away and he looks at me. 

"You are going to pay for that," he says. 

"How?" I ask.

"When we get home you will figure out," he says.

"Correction: When I get off my period I will find out," I say. 

"Fuck! I fucking forgot," he says, sighing. 

We get home and watch Netflix in the front room. He sits on the couch and I sit sideways next to him, my legs going over him. He puts his hands on my legs. 

We get home and after about a half an hour the girls show up. 

Kinzie walks in and Ashley, Camden, Aria, and Savannah follows.

"Hey!" Kinzie says walking in.

"Hey," I say. 

The rest of the night goes by pretty fast. Ethan stays with me but he soon falls asleep on the couch. All the girls talk to me. They tell me about themselves and what they want to become. 

"So what about you, Lori. That all right if we call you that right?" Kinzie says. 

"Yeah, it's fine," I say. 

"So what about you, Lori," she repeats. 

"What about me?" I ask.

"All we have ever heard about you is rumors. Tell us," Aria says. 

"Uh--Well. Uh. It was true about my father. I guess everyone already knows so it isn't much of a secret anymore. He beat me and sexually abused me and I don't want to really talk about him," I say. 

"So you just live with Ethan now?" Camden asks me. 

"Yeah. I went to the hospital because I had a bad brain bleed because of my father. Ethan took care of everything and I started living with him. I have for the last like 3 weeks," I say. 

"How long have you and Ethan been together?" Ashley asks. 

"Almost a month," I say. 

"You guys are the talk of the school. Everyone thinks that you guys are perfect for each other and everyone thinks that you are taking Emily's place," Kinzie says.

They leave about an hour later and they say bye. I guess I can be friends with them, but I wouldn't want to be best friends. They just left Emily and I get that she deserves it but they just dropped her because she isn't popular anymore. They don't like her because she got her ass beat. I don't want best friends like that. 

Ethan is still sleeping on the couch and he looks peaceful. My stomach growls and I decide to call for a pizza. I order two hoping Grayson comes home. They arrive 20 minutes later and I go to wake Ethan up. 

The only thing is, he doesn't look peaceful anymore. He is sweating and breathing rapidly. I go over to him and shake his shoulder. I heard the front door open and Gray yell that he is back. I shake Ethan shoulder a little harder because he didn't wake up. 

Ethan's eyes fly open and he screams. He shoves me back as Grayson is walking in the front room and I fall on my ass. 

"What they hell?" Grayson says. Tears spring from my eyes out of fear. Grayson helps me up and I wipe my tears. Ethan stands up and runs over to me. 

"I am so sorry, Lor," Ethan says. Grayson pulls me behind him. 

"It is okay, Gray. He was sleeping and having a bad dream. I woke him up and he must have gotten scared. It is okay," I assure Grayson. "I got pizza. I put it on the kitchen table. Go help yourself."

Grayson looks at me and he walks to the kitchen. Ethan doesn't move any closer to me.

"I am so so so sorry, Loreen. I am," he says to the floor. 

"What is going on, Ethan?" I ask. I move closer to him. He doesn't move. I duck my head and grab his hands. "Talk to me, please," I beg.
