"Aster and I are gonna get going guys." I told my family, walking into the living room with my youngest daughter trailing behind. Nick stood up from his place on the sofa and put his hand on my side, then brought me in for a kiss.

"Have fun. I love you sugar."

"I love you so much that it's insane." I blew a kiss to my husband, waking out of the house hand in hand with Aster.

"We're gettin a puppy!" My daughter exclaimed as I strapped her into her car seat.

"I know! It's gonna be awesome baby." I smiled, kissing her cheek and sliding myself behind the wheel.

We drove for about an hour before I had to make a stop to get gas, and Aster had to go to the bathroom. We had to go to San Francisco, which was going to take us about five hours, to pick up our new dog. I decided to take Aster with me since we don't get to spend too much time together. Truth is, I just don't want my little girl to grow up and I miss it.

"You can get something. We'll be driving for a little while longer before we stop again sweetheart." I said to her as we came out of the gas station bathroom. I could see a few people raising their phones at us, probably trying to get pictures of Nick Jonas' wife and daughter. We made our way over to the drinks and she chose Hog Wash and I got myself Starbucks iced coffee. We paid and then we were off driving again.

My daughter and I sang along to the radio together and Nick had called to check in on us once we'd been on the road for about three more hours. I had the destination pulled up on the gps in the SUV, so we'd be there in hopefully an hour and a half more.

"Hi honey. How's it going?" My husband said, his voice sounding throughout the speakers.

"Pretty good. About an hour and a half more. Right baby girl?" I looked back to Aster quick before turning my attention back to the road.

"Right mama!" She yelled, giggling. Nick laughed.

"I just wanted to check in on you guys, make sure everything was going okay. How's the paparazzi out there?" He asked me.

"Not too bad. Granted, we had only stopped about three hours ago. I'll probably stop up at the next gas station here shortly." I said, shifting my weight in my seat. I really was itching to get out and stretch my legs, and I'm sure my daughter was as well.

"I'll let you get back to it then. I love you girls, and drive safely." Nick said.

"I love you baby." I said, and then Aster yelled after me.

"I love you daddy!!"

"I love you. See you soon." He hung up the call and then the music came back on. I saw that there was a gas station about a mile ahead and sped up to get there.

Aster and I finally got to the breeder's an hour later, and she was more then excited. I held her hand as we walked up to the door. I had laid down a blanket in the passenger seat, being sure to cover the entire leather seat just in case he shed or something. I rang the doorbell and suddenly heard dogs barking.

"Doggies!" Aster exclaimed excitedly, almost jumping up and down.

"Don't get them all too riled up, okay baby. Can you promise mama?"

"I promise mama."

The woman opened the door and greeted us both with a smile, trying to hold the dogs back from getting out of the house. We quickly got in there, all the dogs sniffing us and moving around the both of us. I couldn't tell which one was mine, there were so many goldens here.

"He's right this way Katy." She led us to a room that looked to be a living room, but was now turned into a room for the dogs. I saw him sitting up right on the old couch, and fell in love with the dog all over again.

"Come here Ace." The woman whistled, and the dog came bounding over to us. I crouched down to pet him. I kissed his nose right away and looked into his soft eyes.

"Hi boy. You're the sweetest aren't you?" I said to the dog, petting his head. His tongue lolled from his mouth and he seemed to be smiling. I scratched his side, and he pushed his body more into mine.

"I'll just have you fill out some papers, and then you'll be all set." She said to me. I stood up and Aster began to pet Ace. The breeder put a collar around his neck and a leather leash hooked to it. She brought him over to a desk in the next room, making him sit next to her.

She slid me some papers and I signed where was necessary, and I filled out the check for her. After that, the three of us were on our way. I got the dog in the car with ease, and he looked to enjoy car rides. I couldn't stop petting him almost the entire ride home.

Once we got home, just as it hit nine at night, Aster was sound asleep in the car seat. I carried her in one arm and held onto Ace's leash with the other hand, walking into the house as quietly as I could. The dog was already pretty much trained so I really didn't have to worry and cleaning up after him too much. Nick came to the entrance to take our daughter from me and he looked down at Ace like he couldn't believe it, and I only snickered.
