The cops were called. I watched the blue and red lights flashing as the police cars sat in our driveway. The kids had to be up by now, and I had no idea who called. Nick was hauled into a car, and I watched as they shoved him into the backseat. I was an absolute mess, sobbing my eyes out as I sat on the ground. He yelled at me, begging me to say something so he wouldn't get taken to jail, but I didn't know what to do. I was in such shock.

I watched with hot tears flowing down my face as the squad cars pulled out of the driveway, taking my husband away from me. I sat on the grass for at least fifteen more minutes before I made my way back into the house. My oldest son was sitting at the dining room table when I turned the light on. I wiped the tears from my face quickly.

"What the hell was that mom?" Kane demanded in a quiet, but stern voice.

"Watch your language young man." I scolded, putting my hands on my hips. That's when I saw a grass stain on the side of my pants and on part of my shirt.

"Mom, come on. What happened? By the way, the girls are fine, I made sure of that." He winked at me sarcastically. I rolled my eyes, wiping the stray tears and taking a deep breath to keep together.

"Your father came home and was drunk. We got in a fight, started pushing each other, he had me pinned to the ground and then the cops showed up. I have no idea who-"

"I called them. Your screaming woke me up and I saw out my window that dad was on top of you. I didn't know what was going on, so I just called 911. When does he come home?"

Ace trotted over, forcing his snout under my arm so I'd pet him. I did, dragging my hand down the side of him, feeling like I was in my own little world.

"We'll talk about this later. Just go back to bed, and make sure your sisters are alright. I'm gonna go down to the police station to see about your father. I love you." I kissed my son's forehead and grabbed the dog's leash and collar, putting both on his neck. I brought Ace into the car so he could come with me.

As I drove, I gradually started to cry again. By the time I pulled up to the brick building, Ace was laying in the back seat since I put the seats down.

"I'll be right back baby." I kissed my dog on the head and rolled down the windows just a little as I locked the car and made my way into the police station. I walked up to the desk, my hands jammed in the pockets of my leather jacket. The woman at the desk looked at me with a disapproving look.

"Can I help you ma'am?" She asked me in a thick valley accent. I blinked back more tears.

"Was Nick Jonas taken here tonight?" I asked her, biting in my bottom lip. She looked at her computer screen and then back at me.

"Yes. We're going to be keeping him for 24 hours. I'd come back tomorrow."

"No, I need to see him now. He needs to come home, he didn't do anything wrong. It's all my fault, please miss." I pleaded.

"I'm sorry. Come back tomorrow at about eleven in the afternoon. You have a nice night now." Her smile was wide and fake, so I just trudged out the door, then I heard a camera clicking. Luckily, I had put on a hoodie and covered my face so they hopefully wouldn't know that it's me.

I slid behind the wheel and into my seat, my dog giving me a confused look. I looked back at him.

"It's okay buddy. Everything is gonna be okay." I began to cry as I pet him. He licked my face to make sure that I was okay. After about ten minutes I finally stopped crying and drove home. Of course, on that drive home, one of Nick's songs had to come on the radio. As much as I didn't want to, I turned it up all the way and sang along with his voice. By the time I was home, all the lights in the house were off as I stepped inside.

I crept up to my bedroom, taking Ace with me. I put on different pajamas since these ones had grass all over then. I slipped on a night gown and climbed into bed, the dog taking up Nick's spot. I looked into his huge brown eyes, almost having some sort of staring contest with him.

"I love you Acey. Goodnight baby." I kissed his nose and shut my lamp off, making the room pitch black.
