"It's Dean Winchester...he's...he's back."

"He is? How do you know?" Gabe asked his baby brother, throwing his flannel covered arm around Cas' shoulder and guiding him to the chair.

"He's my new roommate." Cas spluttered. The golden-haired boy let out a low, long whistle.

"No chance of change?" Gabe asked, fishing for a way out. He loved his baby brother, and there was no way he was letting him get hurt like that again.

"No." Cas curled up into his brother's arms, realizing it was childlike, but not caring at his current moment in time. His whole world had just been turned upside down and shaken like a pepper shaker. The door flew open.

"Hey Gabe can I- oh my god I'm so sorry for just barging in I'll ...I'll leave."

The man Cas had passed when he came in, the one who looked much like a moose with glorious hair, was looking down awkwardly and shuffling his feet. he was draped in about 4 layers of plaid, had the exact same boots as dean (yes, Cas had noticed Deans boots), and had a small smile on his face when he met Gabe's eyes. Cas smiled knowingly when he saw his brother stiffen and blush furiously.

"No no, it's ok Sam. What's up?" Gabe took a deep breath and smiled at this "Sam", his pupils dilating slightly, filling the yellow, brown, gold, and green irises. Cas felt Gabe's heart race.

"Ummm... I was wondering whether I could leave early today? My brother just called, he's going through something and needs me. I'm sorry again for barging in on you and your boyfriend."

Sam glanced up and met Gabe's eyes. Cas could've sworn he saw a flicker of sadness cross Sam's eyes, and his shoulders slump when he said boyfriend.

"Oh, he's not my boyfriend, this is my baby brother! I'm....I'm actually single.  And yeah, sure you can leave early. Here, take something from the shelves for you and your brother." Gabe smiled.

Cas definitely saw Sam's eyes light up when Gabe told him he didn't have a boyfriend.

"Thank you so much!" Sam grinned and walked out, closing the door behind him.

Cas looked at his brother with a smirk, winking.

"What?!" Gabe cried, already defensive. Cas smiled wider showing of his teeth, laughing slightly at his flustered brothers.

"You like him." Cas teased in a sing-song voice, tilting his head and wiggling his eyebrows.

"I do not!" Gabe yelled indignantly. Cas gave his brother an unimpressed look and rolled his eyes.

"Gabe. It took me 6 months to convince you to let me take something of those shelves. And I'm your bloody brother. We are related. By blood. We share genetics. How long has this Sam been working here?"

"3 days," Gabe mumbled, turning a deep red.

"I rest my case. Plus, the only time you've blushed like that was when Zach kissed you in 9th grade." Cas smiled. Gabe blushed again.

"There's too much of an age difference!" Gabe protested.

"How much?"

"3 years."

"Mum and Dad were 5 years apart. So shut up and ask the boy out."
