Happy Birthday Pt.2 (Demi & Wilmer)

It's been a year since she gave Wilmer the ultimatum, that he either started putting his family first or else she was gone, and as she stands in the kitchen sipping coffee with Eduardo clinging to her leg she knows she done the right thing.

'Morning, momma.' A little voice says and Demi smiles as Belle slowly makes her way into the kitchen.

'Morning, princess... Happy birthday!' Demi says and Belle smiles.

'Thank you, momma. Happy birthday!' Belle replies wrapping her arms around Demi's other leg as she places her cup on the worktop.

'Thank you, baby girl.' Demi says smiling as she runs her hand over Belle's messy bed hair.

'Daddy not here again?' Belle asks.

'Of course daddy's here... I promise I would be didn't I?' A voice says and they both glance up to see Wilmer making his way through the front door; a small Cogsworth teddy tucked under his arm and a bouquet of roses in his other hand.

'Daddy!' Belle shouts instantly running towards him.

'Happy birthday, princess... You've not opened your presents yet, have you?' Wilmer asks bending down as she shakes her head.

'I just woke up, daddy.' Belle replies causing him to smile.

'That's good, I didn't want to miss that... This is for you.' He says handing her Cogsworth and kissing the top of her head.

'Thank you, daddy!' Belle replies grinning. She takes the stuffed toy from him and rushes into the living room while Wilmer makes his way over to Demi.

'Happy birthday, hermosa...' He says handing her the roses.

'Thank you.' She replies smiling.

'I was trying to be back before you woke up but the traffic was horrendous, sorry.' He says and she shakes her head.

'It's okay... He woke up so I just got dressed while B was still in bed. I knew you weren't working so I wasn't worried about you not being there.' She replies and he instantly lifts Eduardo into his arms.

'I love you.' He says wrapping his free arm around her.

'I love you too.' She replies.

'Mommy or Daddy will tell you when you've spent all your money but you don't have to spend it all today, okay?' Demi says as they make their way into Toys R Us.

'Okay, mommy.' Belle replies; every year they set a budget for Belle to spend depending on what they bought her for her birthday. However, this year Dianna and Eddie gave her money and so did Dallas so she's got a bit more to spend if she wants to.

'Have you had a nice day so far?' Wilmer asks wrapping his arm around Demi's waist as he uses one to push Eduardo's stroller.

'I have, thank you.' She replies and he shakes his head.

'You don't have to thank me... I've been a shitty husband for the past few years and you deserve the world so I plan on giving you it from now on.' He says.

'You being home was all I ever wanted.' She admits and he nods his head.

'I know and I'm here, I don't plan on going anywhere.' He says kissing the side of her head as she glances down at Eduardo.

'I was thinking next weekend we could see if someone would watch the kids and we could have a night just the two of us? When was the last we time we done that, ey?' He suggests causing her to smile.

'That sounds great... Maddie's here next weekend so maybe she could watch them.' Demi replies.

'Okay. Well we can ask Maddie and see what she says.' He says smiling.

Demi's sitting in the car with Eduardo cradled against her chest when her phone vibrates. Picking it up she smiles as she sees Wilmer's posted on Instagram.

Happy birthday to the two most beautiful ladies in my life. Demi, you have brought more joy to my life than I ever thought possible. You've given me two amazing children and for that I couldn't be more grateful. Our life isn't perfect but I know with you by my side I could do anything. Belle, from the moment you were placed in your mother's arms I knew you were going to be something special. You have filled a hole in my heart that I didn't even know was there. Love you both more than life itself ❤

Tears stream down Demi's cheeks as she stares down at her phone. The past year has been a bit of a struggle but to say things are better than last year would be an understatement. She clicks to like the photo before placing her phone on the dashboard and wiping her cheeks.

''Momma, why you sad?' A little voice asks and Demi turns to see Wilmer and Belle standing by the car door which is open.

'Oh I'm not, baby... I'm happy, so happy.' Demi replies as Wilmer glances at her phone which is still on the Instagram post.

'We paid for her toys, she only spent $40.' Wilmer says leaning forward and running his thumb along her cheeks.

'Really? Can you get her in?' She asks and he nods his head. He lifts Belle into his arms and quickly puts her into her seat before strapping her in. He takes Eduardo off Demi and does the same with him.

'I love you.' She says softly as he climbs into the driver's seat causing him to smile.

'I love you too.' He replies.
