It's a little after 5am when Demi rolls onto her side and sighs as she finds Nick pulling on his jeans.
'Didn't have you down for the type to leave when someone's sleeping.' She says quietly causing him to turn around.
'I wasn't...' He replies.
'So what you were getting ready to just sit and wait until I woke up? Don't lie to me, Nick.' She says.
'Okay, I'm sorry.' He replies.
'I don't care if this is what you do with other girls you sleep with it I thought I was one of your best friends.' She says.
'You are.' He replies.
'Really? Doesn't feel like it right now. You were about to let me wake up to discover your left, do you even realise how that would've felt or don't you care? I'm not some tart that you can just use, Nick.' She says sitting up and pulling the covers to hide her bare body.
'I don't think that. I'm sorry.' He replies and she shakes her head.
'Do you regret what we did last night?' She asks quietly.
'Do you?' He asks.
'Do you even have to ask me that, Nick? You know what happened last night meant the world to me and I will never regret it.' She replies.
'I don't regret it either.' He says.
'Why are you leaving then?' She asks.
'I don't want to get photographed leaving.' He replies.
'You're not going to get photographed, Nick. Paps don't just wait outside my house.' She says shaking her head.
'I need to be up early to go to the gym.' He replies and she sighs.
'Bullshit. Stop talking shit, Nick. Stop fucking with how I feel; you know exactly how I feel about you and by saying and doing the things you said last night you're just fucking with that. You don't want to ruin what we have? Too fucking late. I can't be around you anymore, not if you're going to keep telling me we can't be together.' She says reaching up to wipe a tear from her cheek.
'Dems, I-' He begins and she shakes her head.
'Don't you dare say you love me because you don't. If you loved me you wouldn't do this to me so don't!' She says reaching for her t-shirt. Pulling it over her head she glances back at Nick and sighs.
'Get out.' She says.
'Demi...' He begins and she shakes her head.
'Get out my house.' She says.
_______
six weeks later.
'What are you going to do?' Marissa asks as Demi sighs.
'I don't know...' Demi replies shaking her head.
'You have to tell Nick.' Marissa says.
'I can't. He'll only tell me that he doesn't want to ruin what we have and I don't want to do this on my own.' Demi replies, tears streaming down her cheeks.
'So what? Abortion?' Marissa asks and Demi shakes her head.
'No, I-I don't know.' Demi replies.
'I love him, Ris.' Demi says quietly.
'I know you do, Demi.' Marissa replies watching as Demi throws the positive pregnancy tests onto the bathroom counter.
'I wish more than anything that I could hate him.' Demi mumbles.
'You'll never hate him, Demi. I think if he just gave things a chance you two could be really happy together. Maybe this baby will give him the reason to take a chance.' Marissa says and Demi takes a deep breath.
'You think?' She asks quietly.
'I'm not 100% sure but it's worth a shot right?' Marissa says and Demi smiles slightly
'It's worth a shot.' She replies quietly. Glancing down Demi hesitates before resting her hand on her still flat stomach; this could be their one chance at forever.
