Cause we were just kids when we fell in love, not knowing what it was. I will not give you up this time.

'Joe, I'm just not sure about this...' Demi says quietly as she watches her boyfriend place the final bag into the boot of the car.

'You don't have to come if you don't want to; I just thought it would be nice to have our first vacation together.' Joe replies glancing over his shoulder at her.

'And with your entire family.' She says causing him to sigh.

'Like I said, you don't have to come if you don't want to I just thought it would be nice.' He replies shrugging his shoulders.

'I do want to come.' She says making her way over to him and wrapping her arms around his torso before resting her head against his back.

'Then what aren't you sure about?' He asks not making any attempt to turn round and face her.

'I just don't want to fuck this up before we've even properly began. We went into things so quickly last time and I think that ruined us.' She admits.

'We've been together for over a year and barely anyone really knows. I don't think that's jumping into things quickly, babe.' He says loosening her grip on him so he can turn around.

'I just- I don't want to lose you, Joe. You mean far too much to me for us to not work out this time.' She replies.

'We're going to work out. I refuse to let you slip away from me again.' He says kissing the top of her head.

'I need to pee.' She mumbles causing him to laugh.

'Go pee then and I'll meet you in the car.' He says letting go of her.

'Can you grab my pillow?' She asks and he nods his head.

'Sure.' He replies smiling.

_____

'Remind me why we didn't just fly?' Demi moans as she cuddles her pillow to her chest.

'Because I thought it would be better to drive.' Joe replies reaching over and placing his hand on her knee.

'Well you're an idiot.' She mumbles leaning her head against the window.

'Stop being a grump. Talk to me? What's your plans for the future?' He asks glancing over at her.

'I don't know.' She replies shrugging her shoulders.

'You know what I want, Dems. I want the whole package with you; kids, a house, a life together.' He says and she smiles slightly.

'You ain't getting any babies outta this body until you put a ring on it.' She replies causing him to laugh.

'You know I'd put a ring on it in a heartbeat if I didn't think it would scare you off.' He says.

'Mmm... You'd be surprised how much it takes to scare me off.' She replies quietly and he can't help but smile.

'You can go to sleep for a bit if you want?' He says and she shakes her head.

'I'm good.' She replies reaching for his hand. Smiling she links her fingers through his and glances up at him.

'For the record; I want it all with you as well and I know that you've been talking about finding a new flat so why don't you just move into mine?' She suggests.

'Really? I don't want you to feel pressured into anything. I know you don't want to rush things.' He says causing her to shake her head.

'Like you said it's been over a year and let's be honest you spend most nights at mine anyway, don't you?' She says and he smiles.

'Sounds like a great idea.' He replies.

______

'Dems, we're here.' Joe says softly reaching over to gently shake her awake.

'Mmm... Go away, I'm sleeping.' She mumbles causing him to smile.

'You can sleep inside.' He says and she shakes her head.

'Comfy here, thanks.' She replies. He knows she's anxious about the vacation; it'll be the first time they've actually confirmed their relationship to his family and when they confirmed it to her family it didn't exactly go well.

'I'll take our stuff in first and then you're coming in even if I need to carry you.' He says. He gets out the car and takes their first few bags before making his way over to the cabin.

'Hey! You're the last one here.' Nick says opening the cabin door.

'Hi, sorry. I was planning on getting here early but Demi changed her mind.' Joe replies dropping the bags by the door.

'So she didn't come?' Nick asks.

'She did, eventually... Now she's refusing to leave the car under the pretence that she's sleeping and is comfy.' Joe replies causing Nick to sigh.

'Can I go see her?' Nick asks and Joe nods his head.

'Try get her to come inside, will you?' Joe says. Nick smiles slightly before making his way over to the car and climbing into the driver's seat.

'You should come inside.' He says.

'I will, I just need a minute.' She replies quietly. It's only when he reaches over to move the hair out of her face that he notices her tear filled eyes.

'If you really don't want to come in I'm sure Joe would take you back home or at least book a hotel for the two of you to stay in.' He says softly.

'I do want to come in I just- Things were horrible last weekend with my family.' She admits and he glances over at where Joe's waiting by the front door with their mom.

'Mom and Dad love you, Demi. They always have done; they're going to love the fact that you two are back together and things are going so well.' He says.

'What if they don't? What if they aren't happy that Joe's with someone like me?' She asks.

'Someone like you? An amazing, strong, successful, beautiful woman that they've known for years... I don't quite understand why they wouldn't be happy he's with you.' He replies.

'I don't know.' She says and he gestures for Joe to come over.

'Trust me they'll be happy, Demi. Why don't you just come in for, let's say an hour and see how you feel?' He suggests and she nods her head.

'Okay.' She says quietly. He gets out of the car and watches as she gets out of the passenger side.

'I'm sorry.' She says instantly stepping into Joe's arms.

'You have nothing to apologise for. After last weekend I can understand why you're nervous.' He replies kissing the top of her head.

'I love you.' She says.

'I love you too.' He replies.
