I wrote this a few months ago and thought it was very fitting that I posted it today even if it is very short. I don't know when my next update will be but I promise the Christmas story will be going up when it's supposed to.

'Congratulations, momma... It's a girl.' Dr Montgomery says softly as she lifts the tiny baby and places her on Demi's chest. Tears gather in the brunettes eyes as she reaches down and begins to rub the newborn's back.

'Hey, you... I've waited so long to meet you.' Demi almost whispers as a nurse places a blanket over the babies body.

'Would someone like to cut the cord?' Dr Montgomery asks and Demi glances up at Dallas who shakes her head.

'Matthew?' She asks and he bites his bottom lip.

'Okay... Will I hurt her?' He asks and Dr Montgomery shakes her head. Demi watches with tear filled eyes as Matthew reaches out and ever so carefully cuts the cord.

'She hasn't cried...' Demi says softly glancing up at Dr Montgomery who nods her head.

'That's perfectly okay; not all babies cry. She's breathing, she's nice and pink and she's been reunited with mommy so she has no reason to cry.' Dr Montgomery explains and Demi instantly relaxes.

'Have you settled on a name for her yet?' Dallas asks.

'Poppy Grace.' Demi replies softly. Leaning down Demi softly kisses the top of the little girl's head before leaning back against the pillows.

'You can put her down, you know. She's not going to disappear.' Dallas says causing Demi to smile.

'I can't thank you two enough for being here... I would've been completely alone if you weren't.' Demi replies.

'We would never have let that happen.' Matthew replies. The room falls silent as Demi gazes down at the newborn.

'Your daddy would've been so in love with you.' She almost whispers using her free hand to wipe a tear from her cheek.

'Are you going to give her his name?' Dallas asks quietly and Demi nods her head.

'Poppy Grace Jonas.' Demi replies softly. There's a soft knock at the door and a nurse peeks her head inside.

'I just wanted to let you know that we're going to be acknowledging a two minute silence at 11am.' The nurse says and Demi nods her head.

'Okay.' Demi replies. Glancing down at her phone she can't stop the tears that begin to stream down her cheeks.

'How fitting that she was born on Remembrance Day.' Dallas says softly and Demi bites her bottom lip.

'He'll be watching down on you both with a big smile on his face; he'll be so proud of you.' Matthew says.

'I still can't quite believe he's gone.' Demi admits shaking her head.

'I know it's hard, Dems. I can't even imagine what you're feeling right now but you need to hold onto the fact that he loved you more than anything and he died doing what he loved, what he'd wanted to do since he was a tiny little boy. Poppy is going grow up knowing what an amazing, strong and brave daddy she had. A daddy who gave his today for her tomorrow.' Dallas says.

'We'll always remember him.' Demi replies.
