POV: Mr. Blackbourne

Taking in a slow breath, I lean back onto the couch lining the back wall of my study. That hadn't gone smoothly at all. Not only the boys reactions but the girl. Oh boy, Miss. Black, if that was her real name, was definitely going to be a handful especially if she continued to present herself in such a straightforward and sarcastic manner. It was like a more dangerous female version of Mr. Coleman, only dangerous was an understatement.

Running a hand through my hair, I stare up at the ceiling for a moment before loosening my tie. My mind still focused upon the young girl that had stepped into the nurses office with Miss. Sorenson only hours before. Thick black eye make up, pale skin, thick dark jet black hair, bright wild eyes, and a very slim body. She could disappear and reappear as anyone she wanted and yet Mr. Barker refused to share any information about this young woman with me only that she needed a place to lay low.

Letting out a breath, I feel a soft vibration from my jacket pocket and quickly pull out my cell. To find messages from Victor. Frowning more, I lean forward and place my hands on my knees quickly opening the messaging app.

Victor Morgan: Angel has a problem with the panic button. She doesn't seem to keen on the idea.

Taking a short breath, I quickly respond to Victor thanking him and then sent a text to Miss. Black. Rubbing my forehead, I stand and move to my desk when another text message comes in.

Angel Black: I would like for it to be disabled.

Feeling my breath, catch in my throat, I stare down at the words as if they are ready to bite me. She wants it disabled? Not even a response as to why she has a problem with it but just immediately delete it. Biting back my sudden anger, I quickly type back and hit send when I hear the squeak of the study door.

"She is getting under your skin already?" Sean smirks and comes in sitting down in the chair in front of my desk a Cheshire cat smile on his lips. Ignoring his question, I round my desk and take a seat pulling up the cameras throughout the Morgan residence. "You made the right call Owen. We need the amount of favors that come from this job. Victor needs someone there for him on the inside." He states growing more serious as he leans back in his chair.

My eyes flicker away from my screen at his movements. His eyes are now closed and I can see the circles clearly around them. He had begun overworking again since the team had reached the bottom of the favor jar. He couldn't take the time off work anymore.

"I know. It's going to be difficult though. She is used to the lone wolf system." I state running a hand through my hair as I watch the screen in front of me. Gabriel is using a broom to hit the door to the attic. To my surprise, he quickly grabs the chair at the side of the hallway and jumps up into the attic.

"Doesn't seem like it is going to be a problem." Sean states as he catches the sight of Gabriel disappearing into the attic with Miss. Black. Letting out a sigh, I run a hand through my hair once more and turn off the monitor leading the way out of the study and down the opposite hall to our bedrooms.

"Goodnight Sean." I whisper and close the door to my bedroom before plopping down on my bed and pulling my tie off. Letting out a slow breath, I quickly remove my clothing and climb into bed. Setting my alarm, I frown and spot a notification from the messages app.

Angel Black: Promise.

Frowning, I read the conversation over again unsure what she means before laying my head down on my pillow. A promise?
