Taking a slow deep breath, I step into my home room and suddenly all eyes are on me. "Ah! Miss. Black welcome. You may sit in the open chair in the back." Nodding, I push my way past the first row of students ignoring the whispers that are occurring around me before taking a seat. Running a hand through my hair, I glance around the room and quickly catch the eyes of Gabriel who nods his head slightly n recognition. Managing a small smile, I glance back to the front of the class and proceed to zone out until a note appears on my desk.
Glancing around me, I open the folded piece of paper before quickly shoving it into my pocket. Thankfully, the bell rang and the rest of the class started moving. Moving past Gabriel without even a glance, I make my way down the hallway keeping my eyes down cast. Walking into my next class early, I manage to get their early enough to pull the note out and take a closer look.
Keep away he is a fag.
The note sends shivers of anger up my spine as I think back to the conversation that I just had with Gabriel. Fucking high schoolers. Didn't matter where, maturity was always lacking. Balling up the note, I quickly throw it out before coming face to face with North in the doorway. His eyes go wide and I quickly turn around not giving him another look. If someone had already noticed that I had talked to Gabe then that meant I had to be extra careful from now on. Not even a look apparently was aloud.
Taking my seat, lean back in my chair and watch as students stream through the doorway when Dr. Green walks in. "Okay listen up. Mr. Markin isn't in today so I will be filling in. Open your textbooks to page 12 and get started with notes. You are to complete the questions at the back of the book and then turn them in by the end of class."
Almost instantly, the entire class erupts into chatter and pulls their desks into small groups. Taking this chance, I pop my headphones in and open my book to the end of the chapter. Reviewing the questions, I silently let out a sigh and fill out the questions before closing the textbook. This wasn't my first time in high school and unfortunately history lessons didn't change much. Putting my paper on my book, I rest my arm and lay my face against my arm.
Closing my eyes, I allow myself to zone out when suddenly a hand was shaking my shoulder. Reacting, I instantly grab the hand on my shoulder and sit straight up. One of my head phones slips out of my ear and I am met with the startled eyes of Dr. Green. "Miss. Black." He states his voice echoing slightly through the now silent room and suddenly I realize all eyes on me. Quickly, letting go of the male's hand I glance down as Dr. Green recovers. "Miss. Black I understand that teens are fooling around but your work-" I quickly hand him my completed paper and his eyes go wide with shock.
"I finished." I whisper and my eyes meet North's whose eyes widen slightly but his scowl remains.
With the entire class still focused upon us, Dr. Green's soft eyes skim the paper before looking back at me. "Well, Miss. Black, I understand that you might be ahead since you are coming from your last school but please refrain from sleeping through class otherwise I will have to notify your parents." I stay perfectly still watching as the Doctor does his best to hold his standing as the authority figure and I am left biting my tongue.
Tucking my head down, I open my book once more and start to answer the questions from the next chapter when a girl with long blonde hair and startling brown eyes pulls her chair over. "Shit girl that was the best thing I have seen all day." She smirks placing her book on my desk.
"I'm Candice." The blonde states pushing her hair back to reveal her rock band t-shirt. Nodding, I glance toward Dr. Green who is talking with some students at the other end of the classroom before I look back to her.
"Is he always like that?" I question my voice very soft making Candice's eyebrows widen with surprise before a smirk appears on her face.
"You must be super new if you are asking me that. All of the male teachers seem to have something stuck up their ass." She states putting a stick of gum in her mouth. "Has something to do with the Principle but don't worry if you treat him right he won't bother you... much." I can feel my eyebrows raise in curiosity but the bell rings. Damn how long was I asleep.
Packing up my stuff, I am happy to find Candice waiting for me and we make our way to the door when Dr. Green's voice cuts through my thoughts. "Miss. Black if you wouldn't mind holding back for a moment." Biting my inner cheek I glance to Candice whose eyebrows wiggle with underlying meaning before disappearing into the crowded hallway.
Closing the door, I meet Dr. Green straight on curious and slightly annoyed to see where this chat is about to go. "Miss. Black-" I hold up my hand trying to control my temper before sitting back down in one of the seats.
"Look I don't care about the show of fucking dominance in the classroom. But it did get me a piece of intel you are going to want to hear." Instantly I seem to have the male's full attention. "You know the term turning tricks."
